It’s nice to see an independent used bookstore in the heart of Atwater Village. Alias Books is small but “carefully curated” with “used & rare titles emphasizing literature, film & arts (design, music, erotica).” There are books on other subjects as well, including cookbooks, fiction, history, children’s books, graphic novels, mysteries, etc. It’s considered a bookstore for book lovers.
I was able to find a book that I wanted for $9.50. It looked almost new. Amazon is selling the book, new, for $9.75 with good quality used copies for $7.45 (with free shipping). So, the price is reasonable but not low. It’s a tough world out there for independent booksellers though. Alias is a pleasant, clean place to browse for unusual books, complete with a dog, a couch and coffee table. They also have original art on the walls and art shows. Also, they buy books. Open 7 days.
