Greeks, Rivers and sheep changing colors
Yeah, I just learned another crazy thing for my area, so let’s talk about this.
Aliakmonas is the biggest river in Greece and the whole of it can be found in West Macedonia department. An ancient tradition says that the sheep that drank from that river changed their color and became white. This myth is confirmed by the Latin writer Plinius (23-79AD) who says “In Macedonia, whoever wants to have white sheep goes to the river Aliakmonas, whoever wants to have black sheep goes to the river Axion”.
So... um... yeah. My people took too many drugs. Or maybe they got drunk from the view of Aliakmonas? (ha...haaa.... ha....)
