En route to MAGfest! Gonna be stopping by over the weekend to play games and listen to chiptunes and videogame metal. I got this Comic Note Book from Lootcrate this month, so maybe I'll be documenting my missadventures. If you're there, you just might show up here!
What I've been up to
I figured this blog has been silent long enough since the last update. The truth is, since I started working two jobs (One is of them is graphic design though, so that’s kinda cool I guess?) I’ve been less inclined/all beat to do artwork when I’m back home.
I’m slowly getting my groove back though, and I don’t wanna stay stagnant for too long. I also upgraded to Manga Studio 5 (now “Clip Paint Studio”?) so I’m trying to learn what’s new and different with it for drawing comics. It doesn’t help that this computer’s resolution is STUPID high and its making it a bit confusing when judging whether a page might be too big or too small for blogs (I like to have my stuff load fast for you mobile users!)
tl;dr: New job, new computer, new programs. I’ve been lagging long enough and so I’m trying to work on something now:
Look, I really like Shovel knight, ok?
WELL HELLO THERE NEW FOLLOWERS! I may not say it often because I only post artbutts here, but its super nice to have you on board! Feel free to ask or message anytime aiight! 8D
Maybe we should do more Shovel Knight moments to celebrate...

Art prints, accessories and zines for the classy nerd!
YO, I have a store now! Its little and broken, but still good!
Later on when I can afford to expand and as I produce more work, I'll have more stuff for it! Go take a look and tell me what you think!
Something I did over the weekend and just barely finished on time for the Heart Forth, Alicia Fanart contest on Kickstarter. Its not exactly where I'd want it to be but I still have a lot to learn when it comes to digital illustration. In that sense, I guess I can at least say I'm pretty happy with it.
That Awkward moment...
...when you're literally days away from being completely done with the whole "Years of expensive paid education" thing and you start getting cold feet and thinking maybe this thing I chose is not really my calling and maybe this is not what I want to do for the rest of my life and ugh. I'm a Graphic Design major. My graphic design is not terrible but its definitely not where it should be for someone who is "serious" about it this late into their life. I've had my moments but for the most part its been a very hit and miss affair for me.
I also like drawing on the side. I like illustration but I didn't pursue that because I thought "well I'm gonna do Graphic Design because the illustration field is already chokefull of people who are just way better than I am!"
During our crunch time for Awesomecon, I did more illustration work in a couple weeks than I've done in MONTHS of "dedicated" design work. They weren't that bad either. I had FUN working on it. I put aside distractions that usually keep me from doing design just so I could sit down and draw instead.
I'm not saying its too late for me to dedicate to illustration. Going GD did give me an insight of the tools (digital and aesthetic) that I can use for Illustration just as well. But it makes me a little anxious that it took me THIS long to start seeing at my work and think that I like drawing swords more than I like designing logos.
Its just a little upsetting being this close to the finish line and STILL not knowing for sure what you want to do with the rest of your life.
