Moving on had never been his strong suit. He still held grudges from high school: against Kitty, against Lydia, and now, against Alex. It wasn’t as if he meant to, he just could not let the thoughts stop from swirling around in his head. Things had ended so abruptly that he had hoped to never have to run into her unexpectedly, due to the fact that he wouldn’t know what to do.
Unfortunately, fate had a different plan and he found himself now staring at Alex after a bathroom run. He didn’t want to remain civil, not with her at least, but what else was he supposed to do in a house that wasn’t his? Clearing his throat, he looked down at his feet. He had no idea what to say to the woman who was his ex-girlfriend, no idea where to start. "The other bathroom was occupied.” He said, gritting his teeth as he spoke. This was harder than he expected. Running a hand through his hair, “Shit, I can’t do this.” He added, not realizing that he had said those words out loud.
