Backstory:

Iris was born and raised in San Myshuno. Her and her family lived in the fashion district. Her parents owned a veterinary clinic. She used to help her parents out every day as a teenager and didn’t have a huge friend group. Once her parents divorced she found it hard to control her emotions, that’s why she gets bursts of anger from time to time. As a teenager she loved movies and fashion, she would watch movies almost every weekend with her best friends. Once she turned 18 she knew that she wanted to work in the entertainment or fashion industry and tried her best to convince her parents to let her become a director or a style influencer. Now she’s 24 and reaching for the stars - trying her best to create something that will change the world and make her and others happy. Iris was always an insider and had a hard time opening up to anyone new, that’s why finding a boyfriend or girlfriend was always hard for her, but now she’s up for the challenge!

— found out he was, in fact, gayy at 14 when the boy he shared a tent with during boy scouts kissed him and he thought he liked it waaaaaaaaaaaay better than when his girlfriend kissed him.

— mama thought his piercings made him look ‘like [he] likes boys,” so that’s how he confessed he was, indeed, into boys.

— he was supposed to go to an all boys boarding school, but his parents soon trashed that idea lmao

— grew up with 4 brothers and 3 sisters all of whom are adopted, so people don’t believe him when says that ginger over there is his brother. once he starts his own family, he hopes to at least double those numbers. or triple. it’s up for debate. no less than 5.

backstory

adam was born to a well-off family in del sol valley, that pretty much embodied the concept of “new money”. his home life was no happy one, his parents cold and each mentally abusive in their own different ways, his childhood memories tainted by the pressure he faced each day. he was pushed to pursue a career in business as well as excel in athletics and student government in university, which overwhelmed him to the point of nearly dropping out as a super senior. he just barely made it through off the promise that all his debts would be paid by his parents, before going no-contact the minute he was in the clear. since then, he’s been staying with his aunt as he tries to figure out what he wants out of life, but struggles due to his past trauma and poor mental health. although he’s pretty damn book smart, he has poor time management skills and little motivation, these problems only worsening as he doesn’t seek treatment and further isolates himself. He has a pretty clear hesitance to let anyone get too close- he’s already had the relationship he had throughout college go bad, and doesn’t have the best expectations for any future ones. however, his best friend from uni convinced him to audition for the bachelor “with” him (just to back out the day after, promising to be adam’s enthusiastic cheerleader instead). so frankly, he’s scared as hell to be doing this, but doesn’t want to back out, either. though he hasn’t admitted it to anyone, he is fairly lonely, and longs for someone to truly be open with without fear of being judged or pressured. even deeper down, he’d like to have a family and be a better parent and partner than the majority of people he’s had in his life so far. and even if this is scary, it could be the opportunity for him to do just that.

Beau West would always be a step behind his peers as a child. Born with a congenital heart condition that required surgery in his first month and a number of years on medications, back and forth to and from the family doctor and constantly under the watchful eye of his parents, his early years were far from normal. He wasn’t allowed out to play with his rambunctious older siblings for fear of him becoming hurt. He was the only child of four homeschooled until middle school. It felt, in some ways, like being trapped. Being locked inside like some fragile thing when all of it was so that he could live.

Not much living to be had within those four walls of his family home.

But as he became a preteen, his three brothers protective teenagers by then, his parents loosened their hold. He hadn’t needed a doctor’s appointment in years by then and he didn’t need medication to sure blood ran through him as it should. So for the first time, Beau was allowed to attend public school.

It was awful.

As nice as it seemed to go out and make friends with other kids, play outside, adventure and explore, Beau had gotten accustomed to life inside. He relied primarily on his books and video games for comfort and, truthfully, social situations without his brothers were just a bit too stressful. When one of them was there he felt safe and comfortable to relax and be himself, but without them all he could manage to do was linger in the corner thinking about Super Mario.

The one certainty in his life was that he’d go into medicine. Beau knew since his childhood of fitting toy blood pressure monitors on the family dog’s tail that he wanted to help people the way he’d been helped. He studied hard in high school and while he had the chance to make friends, his grades were always more important. Or maybe it just felt like it was too late to try. Like he’d missed his chance. Books, at least, would always be there for him.

Beau worked hard to get his grades up and keep them that way. He was punctual, organized - he knew which university he wanted to go to before high school had even begun, and now that he was getting to the home stretch, goals crystallizing before him, he wasn’t about to let anything stand in his way.

And then at last, it was there. And he realized that he would have to move away from home for the first time. He would be without his brothers for the first time. And finally he began to question his dream.

It took a while to warm up to the idea of a room mate, but before long Beau got the chance at a social life he’d wished for. His nursing friends were just as studious, but rationalized that if they could find time to hang, so could he. And Beau found he liked being with people. He enjoyed their company, the late night study sessions, the horror movie nights sprawled all over the floor with blankets and popcorn and wine. 

His time in university and nursing school gave him the confidence he’d missed his whole life. Now working his dream job at a hospital, it’s all starting to come together. It would just be nice to have someone to share it with.

Personality:

Warm. Beau is a pretty caring guy, he’s ready with a hug and a smile if someone’s having a bad day and he genuinely cares how people are doing.

A little shy. Not as bad as he was, definitely, but Beau will never be a party animal. It takes him a minute to open up.

Ambitious. He’s happiest with a goal in place and will work his butt off to see that goal to a positive conclusion, no matter what it is.

Slightly married to the job. He cares about his friends and family a great deal, but his phone is always on and he has a hard time not thinking about work.

Jealous. Growing up watching everyone else have things he wasn’t allowed, Beau has a bit of a green streak in him. He does his best to work on it and his therapist is well aware of it, but sometimes it gets the better of him to this day.

Goofy. Though he’s not the quickest to open up, Beau has a goofball streak. When he’s trying to make a good impression he’s very polite and even, but with friends he trusts he loves a good laugh and that polite chuckle can turn into a raucous cackle in no time.

Fun Facts:

Loves slasher and monster movies, but psychological horror genuinely spooks him.

Taught himself to do the robot one summer in his room. Told no one.

Takes his coffee with milk, no sugar, but sometimes adds a bit of vanilla extract for some ~pizzazz~. 

Thinks cilantro tastes like hot ass.

His morning routine is the most important part of the day and one of the few things he’s slightly neurotic about. Listen, he’s a morning person.

Mild OCD presenting itself in a lot of handwashing. He can’t go from one activity to another without washing his hands. It wasn’t as bad, but got worse after his ex cheated on him.

Doesn’t know how to flirt either, and she doesn’t really plan on learning how. She just likes to hang out with people and see if they vibe well together.

Has an older brother who she secretly looks up to, he left home long before she did but they’re still pretty close via text and she confides in him for almost everything.

Lives off of energy drinks. She can’t drink coffee unless it’s full of sugar and topped with whipped cream.

She has commitment issues, but isn’t sure why and she hates it. Deep down, she’d love to have a long-term partner but she struggles when it comes to imagining a future with someone without freaking out.

  Backstory:

Jae was orphaned when he was 10, and he had been keeping to himself mostly ever since then. His family had gone through series of tragedies, but most of those things do not make sense to a child. When he was 6, his older sister was diagnosed with Leukemia. Their parents’ relation started to strain as they struggle to earn money for his sister’s treatments and for their basic needs. They worked multiple jobs, and took turns in taking care for their children, but Jae was mostly overlooked. Both of them had to stop school, and so their only activities at home were reading and house chores (which eventually Jae had to do most as his sister’s condition worsened). Their parents were barely home, and when they were, all they would do is fight (screaming at each other and throwing things around the house). Eventually, his father stopped coming home. Without enough financial aid, medical treatments for his sister halted. She died when Jae was around 9 years old.

After years of struggles and pain, his mother was pushed to a point of experiencing depression. Again, a child wouldn’t know what to do in his situation. After all these things, the worst was yet to come for him. Robbers came to their house one night, and his mother tried to fight them of from stealing what is left of their savings. Jae rushed to help her but one of the robbers attacked him, all he could remember was a sharp pain on his face before he passed out (This resulted in him having a scar on his face). He woke up in a hospital bed, wherein a police officer broke the news to him, his mother was killed in the robbery. The orphanage has sent him from foster families after foster families. Jae spent most of his time on his own, reading books and trying experiments (when he has resources). He had a hard time at school because most kids and teachers just saw him as a weird kid. When he was 17 his genius potentials were noticed by their school principal who decided to give him a test, wherein if he passed he is then qualified to continue on to college despite him stopping school for a few years.

After passing the exam, Jae was then introduced to a couple willing to adopt him even though he is almost in legal age. The couple were both middle-aged doctors, who never had a chance to have a child of their own. They think that he will fit right in their household, and he did like it there. He had access to a library with a lot of medical books, a comfortable bed, and supportive guardians. During his time spent with them and in college, he slowly started to open up to other people. It was a little awkward for him at first to call them “mom” and “dad” but he got used to it.

For his bachelor’s degree, he took up BS Psychology. His course was a big part of how he was able to help himself heal and to also attend therapy. His social life also started to grow as he participated in different organizations that are about healthcare and environment preservation. When it comes to his dating life, well, college girls and boys don’t usually take interest on someone who has his face buried in a book. He went on a few first dates, but none of those developed into anything serious.

He did of course still spend most of his time reading, especially fictions which are fantasy genre since that was his interest when he was a kid. Jae was usually submerged in studying; this applies to all kinds of topics ranging from social issues up to medical discoveries. Whenever this happens, he tends to ignore the random papers, candy wrappers, water bottles littered in his room so his mom describes him as bit of a slob. (Their housemaid confirmed this).

His motto in life is “Keep Learning”. He values individual growth and always finds ways on self-improvement. He tried out sports during this time too, which are basketball and tennis. They were fun for him but they didn’t exactly become his favorite activities. But his experience did help him realize that hobbies aside from reading are important as well. This was how he developed the habit of jogging every other day, and he also tried going to the gym but that didn’t work out for him so he opted for exercising at home instead.

Jae entered medical school when he was 22, and he originally planned to pursue being a General Practitioner. But during his third year, when he had to choose his field of specialization in medical practice, he chose to focus on being a surgeon. Furthermore, his goal is to be a neurosurgeon.

When it comes to family bonding, they genuinely enjoy discussions related to their field of expertise. His dad is a Physician and his mom is an OB-GYN. But medical field aside, they enjoy watching action movies together. They also go out to eat ice cream during summer, and their favorite food to eat during winter is ramen.

  Right now, at age 28, he has finished 2 years of internship. He is currently evaluating his life and his goals in life.

“I’m working as an intern in the same hospital where my parents work. But I decided to take a small break from that for now. I am passionate about my career, but I’m also the kind of guy who dreams of having his own family. And uhm.. I’ve been thinking that I’m not getting any younger, and now more than ever I want to take this shot at love. I talked it out with my parents, because they’ve always been supportive of my career, and they said they want what’s best for me, and that I’m the one who knows that. I’m going to admit that the idea of my own family also terrifies me, but I also know that with the kind of person I am now, I’m going to be a responsible and loving father/husband.”

The reason why Jae is even able to make this choice, despite the well-known fact that doctors are busy as heck, is because of his security in his workplace and the support from his parents and friends. The hospital he works on ensures not only the best care for its patients, but also to its workers. The board members and all staff are aware of Jae’s capability as a doctor and treats him with high regard even though he’s only an intern so far. He had a discussion with the Director of the hospital before he started internship, to which he expressed his intentions and wishes regarding his working hours incase he decides to start a family. The Director is a good friend of their family, and one of the few people who knows about his past. Which is why he has made arrangements for Jae, with the knowledge that he will still be able to work his best.

Jae doesn’t really know what to think of fate or coincidences, but just during the start of his break, he saw “The Bachelor: Alexander Goth”. He wasn’t one to have crushes immediately on someone, more so on someone he hasn’t met. But boy did Alex leave an impression on him. The more he read about him, his interest in him develops and he hopes to get to know him in person someday. He deeply respects Alex’s work as an author, and he’s pretty excited to read his works!

“I’m entering this challenge and I view it as me spending time with possibly the love of my life. When it comes to what I look for in a relationship, I want someone I can grow with. People are so obsessed with finding their Perfect Match, and most of the time they just look for someone who is completely compatible with who they are at the moment, and worse they only want these ideal soulmates. I think that it’s important for partners to respect, trust and love each other. But they should also be aware that people continuously change overtime, and that as partners they must grow together and always choose each other.”
