Elsie and him are striding through a vast meadow, a sea of pink and red flowers lapping at their feet, when someone cries out after them.
“Praedyth! Praedyth!”
Chapter thirteen: Convergence (Part II)
bored as shit at work wrote up a quick alemyr profile
It went like this: she was running out of the Vault, dust crunching under the soles of her boots, red lenses and laser beams flickering in the peripherals of her vision, and she ran into a star.
She was shocked, at first, purely by the impact of hitting something tough and crystalline and bumping off from it painlessly, but the star was bright and lovely, and its gaze wrapped around her to examine her from all angles and across all geometrical planes at once. And it felt warm — the way the pavement is warm, the way sunlight kisses your lidded eyes as you lie in the grass with face turned towards the clear sky. It soaked through her muscles, filling the spaces between her bones.
Chapter ten: Convergence (Part I)
I have this scene pictured in my mind like a freeze-frame, Alemyr reaching out to Praedyth as they are both captured and erased from time. Her hair in motion and eyes desperate, fingers outspread and almost meeting his; this last glance, a split-second before they are pulled apart and away and locked up in their own eternities. This is friendship. This is me crying in a pub.

kabr/alemyr is funny bc both of them are different flavors of workaholic. kabr is simply Too Preoccupied w what he's got going on to notice his Growing Fondness of the warlock he's been spending a lot of time with during his visits to haven. alemyr is actively Aware of her feelings and thus buries herself in work to avoid confronting them. the tension between them is painfully obvious to the outside observer and it drives both their ghosts insane with how much they keep skirting around it
oc thoughts are a 9 to 5 job out here. have some more alemyr stuff
