Here’s my shot of Kid Congo Powers back in 2012 on the closing night of SXSW at Alejandro Escovedo and Friends at the Continental Club. For those of you who are a devotee of alternative music Wikipedia says, “Brian Tristan better known by his stage name Kid Congo Powers, is an American rock guitarist and singer, best known as a member of The Gun Club, the Cramps and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. He has also played with the Divine Horsemen, the Angels of Light, Die Haut, and Knoxville Girls.” It’d be only natural he’d be on the same stage as Mike Mills and Peter Buck as an opener. If you look to the right you’ll see Peter Buck in the back. I used to work at Macy’s Men’s store. Peter popped in one night and bought a Cynthia Rowley hsnd painted shirt from me. We talked about Denny. He told me about them recording music for the movie Man On The Moon. It’s just one of those things you don’t expect to happen but it does.
