When: A few days after the carnival Who: Brenton && @aleiadolohov
While Charlotte had been a distraction and a half, Brenton hadn’t forgotten the other parts of the carnival’s auction bidding that he wanted to address. There were conversations to be had with Walden and perhaps Freya as well following the one he’d had with Rabastan on the night and at some point he had to work out the confusion of feelings that had been spurred throughout the night. Knowing where to start there, however, was near-on impossible, and Brenton wasn’t so sure that he wanted to upset the shaky status quo by suggesting that there might be feelings involved in certain relationships that he had been trying to convince himself were purely sex. Easier, was to look at the one surprise of the night that involved discussing someone else’s potential feelings. Especially given the fact that if Percy and Aleia were something then that could cause issues down the line if the status quo did remain the same.
“So,” he said, when pleasantries and ordering of brunch was done. “You know Percy Pembroke well, I take it?” It was a dangerous topic, too close to Walden than he ever usually strayed with Aleia, and he was even less sure that he wanted Antonin’s name to come up, but he was too curious to let it go unasked.
