I know it’s bc it’s such an absurd concept but it really rubs me the wrong way how there are so many comedic adaptations of Alcmene’s rape, that shit is horror.
Or like her who left home and country and came to Thebes, following warlike Amphitryon,—even Alcmena, the daughter of Electryon, gatherer of the people. She surpassed the tribe of womankind in beauty and in height; and in wisdom none vied with her of those whom mortal women bore of union with mortal men. Her face and her dark eyes wafted such charm as comes from golden Aphrodite. And she so honored her husband in her heart as none of womankind did before her. In truth he had slain her noble father violently when he was angry about oxen; so he left his own country and came to Thebes and was suppliant to the shield-carrying men of Cadmus. There he dwelt with his modest wife without the joys of love, nor might he go in unto the neat-ankled daughter of Electryon until he had avenged the death of his wife's great-hearted brothers and utterly burned with blazing fire the villages of the heroes, the Taphians and Teleboans;

I need to know how Eurytheus died to Heracules mom (who would've been a old lady) and became ghost batman. That feels like a trip
Eurytheus is captured by athenians and the children of hercules and is like "the city has decreed that no athenian will kill me" and everyone like "oh no we cant kill him." and alceme is like "im not a athenian dumbass" and then he says "bury me and ill become ghost batman and help you fight in the future" here ill post the two parts from the actual play
"LEADER: Alcmena, fain I would advise thee somewhat; let this man go, for 'tis the city's will. ALCMENA: Suppose he die, and yet I obey the city? LEADER: That would be best of all; but how can this be? ALCMENA: I will teach thee easily. I will slay him and then give up his corpse to those of his friends who come for it, for, as regards his body, I will not disobey the state; but by his death shall he pay me the penalty." and later says "ALCMENA: Why, why delay to kill this man, after hearing this, since this is needed to secure the safety of your city and your children? Himself points out the safest road. Though the man is now our foe, yet after death is he our gain. Away with him, ye servants, and cast him to the dogs when ye have slain him. Think not thou shalt live to cast me forth from my native land again. (The guards lead out EURYSTHEUS.)"
SHE stops his burial and feeds him to dogs after convincing the people to kill him which is WILD. There's a lot of background, actual, real-world politics behind things with the Peloponnesian War and stuff.
