The way Switchfoot’s website is all ready for the new single/album now 🥰
And of course they have new tee shirts. They make so many tee shirts!! But they also make better shirts than any band I know of so…
Switchfoot said their next single will be titled Fluorescent, and someone on Reddit noted other lyrics including the world. Bomb's "I turn off the fluorescent tubes," and Good For Me (not Switchfoot obviously, but still written by Jon) "The fluorescent lights / They look as bright as the real sun..." I was actually thinking about the Good For Me line when he said the name, but it is my favorite part of the song, so I didn't really think too much about it. However, in both these examples, fluorescent is used to show an illusion, more specifically, the illusion that blinds humans. Which is really interesting symbolism in general, but probably insight into what the song will be about. Coincidentally, i need you (to be wrong) was about illusions too. When iny(tbw) came out, Switchfoot said, "maybe our enemy isn't ignorance, but the illusion of knowledge." Perhaps that's what album 12 will be about in full... the illusions we tell ourselves and follow as we blind ourselves. Illusion(s) also starts with an i as Jon said the album title would‽
So far I’ve heard i need you (to be wrong) sounds like it should be on (or it “vibes” with): New Way To Be Human, Legend of Chin, Edge of the Earth, The Beautiful Letdown. Probably others.
Is it possible it just sounds like a song Switchfoot would make in general? Maybe it’s also possible it sounds like it comes from album 12? Lol
Album of the Week #12
Face to Face
(1966)
By The Kinks
Overall Rating: 7/10
TL;DR: Perfect example of 1960s British rock with a few experimental pieces that make the album even better.

I need you (to be wrong), I love it 🥺 I know what I’m listening to on a loop tomorrow. It ended though and I was wishing there was more.
Also interesting it’s stylized in all lower case and the Native Tongue songs were stylized in capital letters 🤔
Wow, another Tim album cover!!!!
I wonder what 12’s name is though. Tell us Tim!!
