Another band like A Love Like Pi from the day before, Albert React was a band I looked for new music from here and there, hoping they might at some point put out something new or get together once again.  It took 7 years and I was late to finding out by a few months, but finally finding Albert React was a damn good day this year.

Albert React is just one new song and 6 rare demos and songs from what I gather from the recording of their last album, Sonos Aeterno.  The songs felt very much in line with that fantastic album, even including the new one, Cabin Session.  Albert React is the type of band that to me bleeds emotion.  In the music itself and most especially in the vocals.

Previously mentioned, Cabin Session was the one new song on the album and it kicks things off well.  The mix of screaming and clean vocals works wonderfully and now all I am hoping for is more!  Patient In The Wake is a solid closer though maybe not originally meant to be.  Seizure is the song that stuck with me after multiple listens.  It builds and builds and for me is the song that I would point to for someone looking for the Albert React sound in a single track.

If I may quickly take a trip down memory lane... There was a brief period in time when I was in high school where one of the records that my friends and I spun (literally, because it was a CD) on an almost daily basis was Albert React's Confluence and Scrapes. 

Naturally, I was excited when my nostalgia receptors were activated and I heard that the band just released a new self-titled album full of rare songs (mostly unreleased demos from the writing sessions for their second album, Sonos Aeterno), as well as one brand new song, "Cabin Session," that they recently reunited to record. The band broke up shortly after the release of Sonos Aeterno.
