A New Challenger Approaches
It is still Bril week but I have to share this new delight - Alatyr, Traveling Merchant Extraordinaire.
Fresco
forgot to say: Alatyr is Golden Marble))
I ran across this on pinterest.uk from a board by Radomir Rokita. it’s a nice example of an Alatyr star. This is a famous symbol you see a lot in embroidery. You can read more about it’s meaning here: http://ua.paganfederation.org/2013/07/07/alatyr/
Flag of Alatyr/Ulatar, Chuvash Republic
At a glance it does look like falling missiles, but they’re actually quivers (TIL what the bow containers are called) carrying bows. Apparently Alatyr has a rich history of being the home of warriors all the way back to the ancient Rus times.

Great quality and craftwork!
Alatyr's mercantile routes. Is he bound to Eorzea or does he travel beyond? Are there places he won't travel to? Are there places he hasn't been but would like to?
Alatyr has a complex and circuitous route he follows that spans Eorzea and Othard both. The route only stops at big cities every two months, and otherwise is entirely going through small villages and settlements, and he aims to be at the same place at the same time each year.
However, he does avoid Ilsabard in his travels. Going to Ilsabard makes him remember Bozja, and he does not like thinking about the home he once had.
Alatyr's most memorable recent experience while travelling?
"Most memorable recent experience? Hm. Well, I remember a few weeks back, I pulled into a village - tiny place in La Noscea. Same time of year I've been going there every year for the past twenty. Normally, quiet little place, no particular excitement. But this time, they had been waiting for me to get in with my stock of mead because they were about to hold eighteen weddings, and needed the supplies for the honeymoons.
I was invited to dance and attend all eighteen weddings, and it was a very, very fun week."
