Well for those of you who don’t know, A Cap was a cartoonist who had a syndicated strip in the comic section in all the newspapers across the country. The man on the left is Fearless Fosdick and those white characters are Shmoos. He was most famous for Li’l Abner. Li’l Abner lived in a ficticious community named THE DOGPATCH. If you live in the Dogpatch in San Francisco that is where the name came from a comic strip
