"Red of hair and blue of eye, Lady Rhaenyra and her younger sister the Lady Visenya were said to be bastards of the Lord Commander Ser Duncan the tall. Yet no fault could be found within their person, for were the Lady Rhaenyra was charming and adventurous, her sister was kind and studious."
The Lady Rhaenyra Waters and her young sister Visenya Waters were the bastard Daughters of Princess Rhaenrys Targaryen and Ser Duncan the Tall, though their paternal parentage remains anonymous and a subject of great contention. With only 2 years separating them, the girls grew up close as twins and were often regarded favourably in the court of Aegon V.
It is said the Lady Rhaenyra was taller and more boisterous than her sister, and was taught to ride and hunt and hawk by the Lord Commander, Ser Duncan the tall. By comparison, her sister Visenya was more fond of books and stories, and could often be found in the lap of Ser Duncan, listening intently to the grand stories from his travelling days.
Both girls were over 6ft in height and were incredibly close to their mother. As they grew into adulthood, advantageous marriages were found for both sisters, but after the tragedy at Summerhall that claimed many a Targaryen life, including that of their own lady mother, the bastard sisters retired into a semi-anonymous life far from court.
It is said that they died within a year of one another, Visenya first and then Rhaenerya, said to be heartbroken over the loss of her dear sister, fell second. They were surrounded by their family and mourned heavily by those they left behind.
