kezo made a point of never revealing his place of residency. there were various stop - points he could reference when clients insisted they meet him, perhaps in an attempt to sus him out as a person, inspect just the type of lifestyle he might have had, but to them — he was not simply a person. he was a tool, a means to an end, and all he could do was remind them of that fact. still, try as he might, some were more persistent than others. he expected it would happen, but never in this manner — black hair, wet and still dripping from the shower, curled slightly from the air and clinging to his skin, towel wrapped over his hips. he would have shouted had he not heard the window slide open seconds prior. and so they talked, they discussed payment, then kezo was pushing her out his bedroom door without giving her a reason to lash out. and then there she was, already standing in his living room. he was wordless as he finally got the client to leave, and when she finally spoke, he felt his heart sink. “ yo. ” he cringed. idiot. “ ayame, stop. ” arms fold over his chest as if he meant to cover up. “ i want you to stay. you have the key for reason. what's wrong ? ”

getting in and out of the agency was no easy task, but aklla had mastered its nooks and crannies. as a daughter of the organization, she had grown familiar with the ins and outs of the heavily fortified building which included noting all its blind spots. the rogue had one leg over the window sill when the unfamiliar voice pinned her to her spot. her eyes narrowed in the dimly lit weapons room until she found her target. in what felt like the blink of an eye she materialized behind the girl and pressed the blade of her dagger against the soft skin of her neck. ❝ if you scream i will kill you. ❞ her matter-of-fact voice was low in the girl’s ear and the long shadows around them flickered when she spoke. the last thing aklla needed to complicate her night was a venkari who couldn’t keep their mouth shut. the agency never noticed when a weapon or two went missing from their arsenal, but she’s sure they’d make her life much harder if word got out of her escapades. ❝ who are you ? who do you report to ? ❞
