It’s great that you offer your perspective and your desire for representative on characters and actors. It’s true what you said regarding the fandom or at least the one on Tumblr. I’m not Indonesian but I’m the curious types who like to read tidbits on the historical backgrounds fans wrire regarding to the period Magnus would have grown up in, or at least lived through if he was older than 400+

That’s great that you have that curiosity in you! Although I do think you’re right about the likelihood of them only offering like five minutes’ worth of flashback in the end (at least in season 2B), I do hope that they’ll offer more bits and pieces throughout the series as a whole. I’m also keen to share my and my parents’ knowledge/perspective if the show decides to show anything that’s Indonesian in particular, e.g. any more artifacts like the keris (my mom doesn’t watch the show but when I showed her a screencap of Magnus with the keris and explained his origins briefly, she had a lot to say about it!), or anything that Magnus happens to say, or any cultural element that’s alluded to, etc. etc.

Sorry I didn’t mean my last response to be sarcastic or killing people’s joy. It was a what if thought. It was more negatively directed at the past promos versus what fans actually got.

@akidono No problem, all I was doing in my response was just explaining my viewpoint too - I felt like offering my perspective since, while there are quite a few Indonesian fans in this fandom, the majority of the fanbase is almost certainly not made up of Indonesians (and actually seems to be white, I think, so people may not always be aware of some of the things that would make an impact in the lives of poc fans!).

Don't forget the Mayuri and Nemu incident during HM arc.

Oh my god. Why did I ever like Bleach in the first place? Seriously. There is so much problematic shit with it, ESPECIALLY the whole Mayuri and Nemu dynamic. I’ve always been creeped out by their relationship, because Nemu is essentially a punching bag for him, not to mention gets horrendously mutilated and fucked up in a multitude of ways on a repeated basis. She’s his daughter no matter how she was created; she’s a SENTIENT PERSON WITH THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS AND HE JUST TREATS HER LIKE GARBAGE.
