Ava opened her mouth to protest, but Akaashi shut her off and she got swept away with the new subject. She nod her head and explained her dad would get her anything if she had good grades. "Additionally, it was my birthday a few days ago," she mumbled and quickly changed the subject. "My dad also knows how these characters affects my mood a lot. I'm emotionally invested in them and that's bad, but feels so... right at the same time, you know? For some people, it's like music. They make me happy"
Everything Akaashidid brimmed with graceful subtlety, but this one was a clear exception â his eyebrows rose considerably at themention of your birthday, and while it has passed already, he was compelled toat least give you a small gift. Perhaps some sort of welcome present? Heâllhave to keep that in mind the next time he goes out to buy something. âI donâtthink itâs that bad, being invested in those kinds of things,â Akaashi saidsoftly, âIf itâs something that makes you happy and feel at ease, it makessense for you to splurge for it once in a while. Just make sure not to go overthe top and risk your health for it.â Before he could prolong the conversation, the teacher made his entrance, causing multiple students to stumble and runaround to get back to their respective seats; one of his classmates rushed andbumped Akaashiâs right shoulder, prompting a pained expression to appear on hisface. It lasted for a mere second before it dissolved into Akaashiâs usualimpassive look, and he slid his gaze back to you as if nothing had happened, asking âDo you want to have lunch together later?â as their teacher focused onarranging his stuff on the desk before starting the lecture.
