Early birthday present for myself! 😺 Really wanted to make Tobi Naruto Shippuden look really intimidating and powerful, and I think I nailed that vibe on this! I’m very proud of myself on how well I achieved that!

note: okay i must note, i kinda went off on a completely different tangent and the idea is a little messy BUT it does include the prompt sooo-

prompt: i don't know a lot about this whole dating thing, but i wanna learn, with you"

you unwrapped the starburst from its package and threw it into your mouth, chewing it slowly. you scrunched the wrapper into a ball and aimed it at the trash can, missing it completely.

“that’s littering,” karl scolded you teasingly, “you’ve got to pick up!”

you rolled your eyes but smiled warmly. “yeah yeah, whatever you say, greta thunberg,” you joked, standing up and proceeding to pick up the astray wrapper, throwing it in the trash.

you sat back down on the bench beside him, crossing a leg over the other. the park was surprisingly serene today. a silence occurred between the two of you as the wind blew softly, both of you were just silently eating your snack in peace.

leaves were blowing off the trees and your eyes followed a specific one until it flew to past two others in the park on a bench almost opposite you. they were holding hands and giggling with each other.

your eyes fixated on their entwined hands. you suddenly felt very single.

“goddamit, why does everyone have to be in a relationship these days?” you complained, looking away from them. karl gave you a concerned look.

“feeling jealous?” he asked you

“no, just feeling lonely,” you admitted in a light hearted manner. “i’ve been single for 5 years straight, i’m 22 now! i can barely remember my last relationship,”

“it was with that guy from-“

“don’t remind me,” you stopped him, giving him a stern look. karl jokingly put his hands up in surrender.

“surely you’ve got your eyes on someone, though, right?” he asked you, opening up a can of monster.

“there’s slim pickings in this town, i haven’t developed a crush on someone in ages,” you sighed.

which wasn’t exactly true. you had the same crush since high school. karl had been your best friend for as long you could remember, but one day, you started to feel a little different towards him. you don’t know why.

obviously you never showed it. karl had a crush some girl at the time and you had tried your best to be supportive, but it hurt each time you noticed his eyes light up when they spoke or when she chuckled at one of his jokes. when the girl got a boyfriend one year later, karl was left heartbroken, but he got over it quickly.

“what about you?” you asked him. “any body caught your eye lately?”

“well-,” he started “there’s this one person,”

you felt yourself freeze. you turned to him and shot him a confused but curious look. a small pit of jealousy started to bubble up at the bottom of your stomach

“really? who?” you questioned.

“just someone i’ve known for a while, i guess. they’re really cool and funny, but it’s just a stupid little crush,”

“do i at-least get to know who it is?”

karl then stood up, brushing his lap and behind, before aiming the monster can at the trash can. “nope,” he said, popping the ‘p’

karl didn’t bring it up at all after that, but that’s all you could think about for the next few days.

who was this person and why had he never mentioned them before? your mind was filled with various different questions. the last time you even remember karl getting into a ‘relationship’ is when that kid from primary school proposed to him with a gummy ring.

after much consideration, you thought it was best to just try and get over your best friend and start a search for somebody new. so you resorted to something you never thought you would do. tinder.

you made a dating profile and were already on your mission to find a possible partner but some of the options were... disappointing.

regardless, you knew somebody would be out there. even if it wasn’t karl.

you found yourself a little addicted to the app. swiping had become just a habit for you. you were judgy and picky, so you really couldn’t blame anyone but yourself.

a week had gone by, and you were still swiping.

“is that- tinder?” you suddenly heard a familiar voice, all your thoughts were interrupted. karl was looking at you and your phone.

you panicked. switching off your phone and hid it between your thighs. you were sat on karl’s bed while he was on his monitor, playing minecraft.

“uh-no?” it came out more like a question. karl stood up and snatched the phone from your lap

“hey!” you protested, your face already going red.

he switched on your phone, glaring intently at the screen

“sam, 3 miles away-“ he read, narrowing his eyes “why do you have tinder, [y/n]?”

“because i don’t want to be single for the rest of my life, karl!” you exclaimed. deciding it was just best to admit to it because the situation was already embarrassing enough. you snatched your phone back from his grasp, you continued to carry on as normal.

karl ran his tongue across his lip, observant.

“it doesn’t even have to be a long term thing, you know, i just want to go on a date with someone, if it escalates from there then it’s just a bonus” you told him.

the phone was pushed out of your hand once again

“then here’s an idea, go on a date with me!”

a silence filled the room. you looked up at karl, his eyes were almost pleading and bleeding with desperation.

“what?” you whispered, almost inaudible

“i... uh- go on a date with me?” he said much quieter, feeling ashamed from his sudden outburst.

“what? but i thought you had a crush on-“

“you are the crush, i’ve had a crush on you for as long as i can remember! jesus christ [y/n]! and i thought i was the oblivious one.”

“oh,”

you gnawed on the inside of your lip as you placed your phone on the table beside the bed. karl switched off his monitor and joined you on the bed. you cleared your throat to escape the silence, but it still returned, until karl spoke up again.

“you know how i literally haven’t been in a relationship for years now?”

you nodded slowly.

“because,” he stopped himself, wondering if it was a good idea to carry on. “because i thought maybe you and i would eventually- you know- end up together,” he fiddled awkwardly with his fingers, looking down at his lap and avoiding your gaze.

“you were waiting for me?”

he shrugged. “i guess so,”

you felt a smile creep up on your face. why did you two have to make everything so complicated? you shifted closer to him on the bed, reaching out for his hand and grabbing it.

“i really like you karl, and i would love to go on a date with you,” you said softly. his eyes met yours, his face contorted into a hopeful grin.

“really?” he asked you

“of course,” you assured. “i’ve been crushing on you for a long ass time too,”

karl honestly felt the happiest he had ever been, his heart could’ve bursted out of his chest right then and there. his face started to heat up and he let out a precious giggle.

“then it’s a date,” he confirmed. “but i have to warn you i.. i don’t know a lot about this whole dating thing,” he squeezed your hand “but i wanna learn, with you,”

you beamed at him, immediately pulling him into a hug.

“i wanna learn with you too,”
