i forgot how fucking miserable and hard to watch SATC/AJLT is. like i WANT to like the story because FASHION and women-centered stories but i couldn't get through one episode. i'd literally chip my orbital bone with pilers piece by piece then finish continue watching

I will say this for the supernatural finale. they didn't hard cut to a stream of piss or show me onscreen prop shit bubbling out of a toilet. something that cannot be said. for some reason. about the sex and the city reboot. absolutely bamboozled as to why they did that to me.

I love hearing snippets of Carrie's novel which sound. to be blunt. really bad. and then getting other character's reactions jerking her off about it. awesome. I love wish fulfillment media.

aaron AIDEN. I LITERALLY FORGOT HIS NAME AFTER A WHOLE EPISODE ABOUT HIM. anyway aiden sex and the city is somehow both boring AND cringe. how does one man find the time to be so annoying on so many different axes. big was boring but at least he was also iconic. when aiden showed up in AJLT I was like okay what do I remember about this man....he tried to make Carrie into a farmgirl...and...he broke up with her on a post-it note. that's all that was in there. i would not be able to pick this man out of a line-up. excruciating viewing.

one of the major problems with And Just Like That (sex and the city reboot) season 2 is that because of another problem (too many lead characters) we don't get the sex and the city brunch chats with all of them. so we'll see carrie's new bestie the samantha clone have sex with a guy using a penis pump and then we ONLY hear her and carrie's opinion on it. the beating heart of sex in the city is the brunch chats but they're all so scattered apart and there are so many characters who'd have the same opinion that it wouldn't make sense

I think it was a really interesting and smart move on the AJLT front to couple Samantha's abrupt departure from the friendship without closure to Big's death. The creative team knew that we the audience would be deeply feeling her absence at the table, and be feeling a grief for her character not being there, so they had Carrie's role in the season to be dealing with grief herself. It's Samantha's flowers on Big's coffin. When Carrie is longing for Big's ghost to have been talking to her, she texts Samantha. When Carrie finds her way to enough closure with Big's memory to spread his ashes, she also gains closure with Samantha. It was a great move! Because obviously no one gives a fuck about Big except as a tool for Carrie turmoil but we DO care about Samantha.

And just like that… Big died, I got covid, our journey with SATC concluded

The reason Samantha couldn't be in And Just Like that is because, immediately after the events of the show, she had a child, Mia, who she'd been raising as a single mother for the last 20 years. And during the events of the show, she was planning a grand wedding for Mia. Unfortunately, her daughter discovered the 3 men who had sex with Samantha around the time she was conceived, but neither knows who the real father is, so Mia secretly invites all 3 to her wedding, and antics abba ensued. And just like that, there were 3 papas and one mama for mia. So Samantha couldn't go to Bigs funeral.
