Pandemonium, The Queen and Mother of all demons, as well as the name of the realm and home world. Aion and Chrono were born from Lilith, who is Pandemonium’s current host. When she was pregnant with the two, they were the first of her children to be born. Since Lilith was taken to be the next pandemonium and host, Chrono and Aion were seen more as hybrids while she was pregnant and the two were considered very dangerous. Since young, Chrono was always very friendly and loyal. He stayed at his brother’s side as someone he trusted more than anyone. He became known as Aion’s sword. Aion’s greed was always bigger than him, wanting freedom from Pandemonium and he convinces Chrono to leave with him and escape.
Chrono is known as the ‘100 demon killer’ during their escape from Pandemonium thousands were slaughtered, Chrono killing 100 of the most powerful demons during this time. Thought to be because of his loyalty to his brothers and the sinners when in fact it was due to the destruction their battle had caused and the lives that were lost. This was his drive to push forward and what lent him the strength to defeat those who were against them. At the end of their escape, the six that were left, that followed him and Aion out of Pandemonium were known as ‘Sinners,’ as they all live together in Eden.
Aion orders Chrono to kidnap the Apostle Mary Magdalene, who he has to look after and eventually becomes fond of. Chrono, despite being a demon and sinner, he’s always had a softer heart, and while his loyalty to his brother Aion is strong ; he realizes that he’s unlike the other demons. Often letting his heart lead his decisions. His fierce loyalty shown to those that weren’t his brother and the other sinners, Aion could not stand the betrayal of his brother choosing the Holy Maiden over his own brother. Without hesitation, Aion rips off Chrono’s horns; which are the source of demon’s powers. Due to this, Mary and Chrono fall from Eden, and in order to preserve his life, she forms a contract without his consent. Aion finds them once more, stabbing both Chrono and Mary, and in a fit of anger, which triggers his transformation and thus using the last of Mary’s life she passes and he resorts back to his child-like form, mourning the loss and letting the guilt eat at him. Staying with Mary for fifty years until Rosette and Joshua find them while exploring.
After everything that happened with Mary, he never planned to form another contract with another person, however, things change after Aion kidnaps Rosette’s younger brother Joshua. Using the Apostle for his own gain, and giving him Chrono’s horns when he refuses his brother’s offer to return to Eden and at his side again. Rosette, desperate to get her brother back, she begs Chrono to form a contract with her. Chrono, feeling guilt, he agrees to have Rosette be his contractor and help her look for Joshua after Aion’s taken him. They are both found and taken in by Ewan Remington and taken into the Magdalene Order. Rosette eventually becomes a demon exorcist and Chrono her assistant.
Chrono’s weakness has always been his soft-hearted nature, but it is also his greatest strength. Finding people he cherishes and wants to protects has always been something that amplifies his powers and becomes his drive to keep fighting forward. He’s always been a bit different, not quite like the other demons because of his, but it isn’t until he met Mary, and eventually Rosette and joins the Order that he realizes it’s not a bad thing. He learns to cook, clean and sew. Mostly as a way to pass the time, and sometimes to have to clean up after the mess that Rosette often causes. He often balances out Rosette’s loud and clumsy temperament. In spite of being a demon, he’s very gentle and patient which does contradict his nature, but it’s more so something that’s developed being around Rosette, he learns how to adapt to those around him.
