I really wish that HNK and Golden Kamuy were more popular because I really don’t get it??? Perfect 10/10 anime/ manga right here that could’ve easily been anime of the year type of material (idk about the GK anime but if it had a bigger budget or was animated by someone like goddamn MADHOUSE then Big YEAH). That’s the curse of not being strictly Shounen since it will always be the most popular genre and will 9 times out of 10, become mainstream just because of the sort of genre that it’s in and the fans they attract... Golden Kamuy is so fucking funny like I die and I learn about history and all sorts of food, the culture of the Ainu people, and things about certain animals that I never thought too much about lol. HNK is so... different and depressing as hell but it’s a wonderful story regardless if you might end up crying fountains of tears after every other chapter. Random but I always found it strange how GINTAMA is an extremely popular Shounen and it’s highly rated but I don’t see lots of people talking about it despite this? I guess I’m not following a lot of Gintama fans but yeah, Gintama is also hilarious is hell and deserves all of its credit tbh. Please watch/ read Gintama lolllll. It balances being a parody along with actually having a plot and exploring character growth really well! It always manages to make you fucking bawl like a baby right after you’ve laughed a lot just like Golden Kamuy ahh. When I was reading Golden Kamuy, I thought about how Gintama was one of the funniest series I’ve ever gotten Into and how the GK’s humor reminded me of Gintama (not all the way but they’re both just so funny in their own way lol.)
