Neat guitar. These arenât at all faithful to the old Nationals, though. Theyâre very modernized and, most notably, are made of wood.
This one was a real mixed bag. It played well enough and sounded fantastic acoustically. It cost me $800 + case at the time, and theyâre $900 now. For that money, you get knockoff Grovers, a licensed Bigsby, mini pots, and cheap, crappy humbuckers. In other words, the components here do not match the price point. I ended up rewiring it with a few different pickups (settled on TV Jones Classics) and eventually sold it. Again, I really did enjoy how it sounded and I actually kept it for quite a while, all the way up until I HAD to pare down, so I wonât knock it too much, but it is not exactly a good value for your money. $900 goes a long ways these days - a lot farther than this.
