I want to give a shoutout to two INCREDIBLE pilots whose stories and struggles are a shining light to anyone wrestling with “how much longer do I keep going?” in aviation. I’m keeping this somewhat vague and anonymous because of the sensitivity of some of their personal stories. 👩🏻✈️One woman did not come from money. She saved, worked, saved some more, and worked again for her commercial pilot’s license and MIFR ratings. Her wings came with tears, blood, and lots of cold nights up North. She never gave up. Now working on another rating, this champion is selling her art to pay for it. 🖼 I have no doubts she’ll succeed, and continue her already successful career in aviation. She has my admiration for her insane work ethic and dedication to her goals. 🤚🏽 👩🏻✈️This woman also did not come from money, although this is because her husband wouldn’t let her have access to it. She was trapped in an emotionally, physically, and financially abusive relationship. Her and her young children would skip meals sometimes, unable to pay for groceries when her husband wanted to “punish” her by starving them. One night, she freed herself. She loaded her three young kids into a car, and drove. And drove. She didn’t stop driving until she was certain that they were safe. She went on to pursue her dream of becoming an airline pilot, and SUCCEEDED! Now flying for a major airline, her and her family are safe, loved, and carefree. What an absolute badass. 😭 She’s a great taildragger pilot too to top it off. So, what’s your excuse for giving up on your dreams? ✈︎ ✈︎ ✈︎
