Shameless. James Danziger, a New York City gallery owner, used AI to make a few bucks off a famous image in public domain. The Ansel Adams Publishing Rights Trust has lambasted James Danziger for offering AI-colorized editions of one of the late artistâs most recognized photos - Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico (1941) - that he offered for sale at recent AIPAD exhibition. In an online statement, the Trust said Danziger âexploited Anselâs name, reputation, and his most iconic image.â Itâs hard to believe that AIPAD allows this, but they apparently have no backbone to prohibit their members from making and selling AI-generated reproductions.
