SO YEAH, my tips on Kanaya is to focus on make-up and wigs! I think the wig is probably most important, because in a sea of black wigs and black t-shirts, a wig is really going to set you apart from the rest. I’m not really good at styling wigs though. ;w; My friends did most of the work on my current wig and I’m just trimming it a bit as a go to get it closer to what I want it to look like, but I suggest looking a pictures of Kanaya that you like or other cosplayer’s wigs that you like and emulate that style! There are many ways to style Kanaya’s wig I feel—like, mine is a little more stylized and longer because of my face shape and also personal preference, but you can get a very different wig if you base yours on her canon hair. o^o So looking around is a good idea to know how you might want to style her wig. :D Fanart helps too.

Make-up also depends from person to person. o^o Like, I do my eyeliner in a very cat-eye style, but I also change it every time I do my make-up so. |D But especially for humanstuck I think make-up is pretty important. o^o Accentuating my cheekbones is something I do, and I also usually opt for my green lipstick if I’m doing humanstuck because it’s very easy to identify Kanaya if she has that green lipstick.

Also for Humanstuck, clothes are important. o^o But since Kanaya wears a variety of styles, she’s pretty easy to work with. She has so many canon outfits that are pretty out there in style and color that as long as it looks nice it should be fine. |D

And for her Troll version, hmm. :Ia Besides the things I already covered, I think it’s important to have good horns because they are also another way to identify a character. :D I always like it better when the headband is hidden too, under the wig. My own horns are attached with snaps to a headband hidden under the wig.
