Aiden pulls away as quickly as he came in. Pulled a hasty retreat the moment Petra’s eyebrows shot up in surprise.
Petra had to blink once- twice- still feeling the tingle on her lips.
She was aware he had mustered a lot of courage to even make contact, and now he was already in flustered stammering regret.
Aiden’s face is almost as red as her hair, all the way up to his ears even, “Shit, I’m sorry - I mean- I was trying to say-” he falls into a garble of illegible words, still falling back.
It’s awkward for both of them right now. Petra had no idea how the other couples made it look so damn easy. However-
Petra gently grabs his shirt collar and pulls him back in, pressing a kiss on his lips as light as the first attempt.
She then gently takes a step back, letting the contact linger a moment longer before she fully pulls away.
Aiden’s silent now. Still red of course. But calmed.
“It’s ok, I got it.” Petra smiles softly, “Goodnight Aiden.”
He manages a timid smile, and kisses her in a more confident place- her forehead this time- “Good night Petra.”
My fricken pen broke on the final lining. So Aiden has a ink splotch by his eye.
