Elias stretched, content with the progress they'd made with the boxes. He looked around the space, their living room and kitchen practically finished with the general decor like pictures and ornaments to go out. Aidan had insisted he keep his creepy little trinkets out even though Elias said he could store them away. With the way the living room looked, they'd fit in well with the vibe they were going for. He'd set them out in the cabinet later - he would call it the Cabinet of Curiosities.
Imhotep had his own space in one corner of the living room - a black cat tower that looked like a pyramid of sorts, his bed, and his crate of toys. His food and water bowls were in the kitchen and his litter box in a corner of the closet under the stairs - Elias wondered if they could install a cat flap on the door instead of keeping it open a crack. Ideas for later!
The bathroom had yet to receive their decorative touch but they'd get to that. And they were waiting for their new bed to arrive, so for now they were sleeping on a big mattress on the floor. Of course, Imhotep's best friend, the robot vacuum, had come with them. They couldn't sever that special bond.
"It's perfect," He sighs, pleased with how nice it all was. It just fit them so well. Like the place was a combination of both their personalities. He looked at Aidan with a grin. "I feel like a proper adult now." Owning a house with someone with both their names on the paperwork was a big step. He'd already sent his mom pictures when they first looked at the place, but he'd send more once it was all finished.
Aidan grinned. "Just wait until something breaks and we have to deal with the headache," he teased. "You'll want to crawl back to renting soon enough. But we'll be fine."
He pulled him close, pressing his forehead against Elias'.
"I'm glad we finally did this," he murmured gratefully. "My place never felt right when you left."
