So thereās a theory circulating now after the trailer release of Ep Ignis.... where Noct dies and Ignis saves him by putting on the ring! Regis vouches for him before the kings of old, like he did with Nyx, and Ignisā price to pay for that brief power is his eyes!! I have mixed feelings about it (because it would make Lunaās death near pointless), but hhhh that sweet Ignoct! Whatās your thoughts on this???
yeha iāve seen that theory! iām kinda torn on it too since itād be VERY IGNOCT and of course iām biased, but from a narrative standpoint it wouldnāt make much sense? firstly, how would noct die. surely not from leviathan since he had her pretty beat. maybe he could be close to death due to intense stasis via titan, but that also wouldnāt make much sense since surely the last thing the astrals would want is their sacrificial lamb dying sooner than prophesized? it could just be ardyn, but then ardyn had PLENTY of other opportunities to kill noct and didnāt take them. he wanted noct to achieve certain things first too. and yeah! the luna thing. but lunaās death was something that was going to happen soon anyways, ardyn just made it happen faster.
i definitely believe ignis is going to use the ring to save noctis in some sense, or is maybe tricked into it by ardyn (threatening noctās life in order to force ignis into making that hard choice?), like at this point thatās a given.
also... eyesight = a royal life doesnāt sound like something the lucii would agree to either, since they wouldnāt have equal worth. if the power boost for nyx was at the cost of his life after only one night iām sure the lucii would be wanting more in payment than ignisās eyesight? then again they /would/ be wanting to ensure noctās survival since theyād also want noct to free them from the ring. so??????

(though now that i think about it, maybe ardyn tells ignis about noctās unavoidable fate in order to taunt him (like, weāve already seen thatās ardynās at least trying to turn ignis against noct and/or the astrals), and ignis puts on the ring to try and do something about it via the source? but the lucii are allĀ ālol noā and punish him for it? maybe the only reason they donāt flat out kill him is regis vouching for him, as with nyx? i would die)
