yesterday when looking at ai-generated art for the post about ai-generated plants, I found this incredibly bizarre instagram account
The older posts on this account are clearly photos and videos of real gardens, supposed to have been created for clients, but at some point, the account began posting AI-generated images with similar claims that they were real gardens created for clients
The latest photos are tagged "midjourney" and "aiart" so at least there is some acknowledgement that the photos are not real, but older AI-generated posts are fully just...labeled explicitly as photos of real things.
Many of them don't even look remotely realistic, and yet PEOPLE ARE STILL FOOLED
Later the account claims that they are "renders created using a variety of tools including AI" but...this is obviously just Midjourney and nothing else. Like, no one is polishing these images to make them look believable
Even the way the account speaks and words things is odd. Like, it repeatedly calls topiaries "a plant on steroids" when that doesn't even make any sense.
At the very least, this account is being run by someone who isn't fluent in English, which seems...a little bit strange, since most of the images are claimed to be IN ENGLAND, and you would think an England-based company could find a fluent English speaker to run their social media.
