Title: Crown of Scales Wordcount: 2267 Kinks: transformation, egg laying, dragon transformation, kobold, knotting, breeding Synopsis: Erysis, after discovering that her elvish bloodline is different, is forced to flee her home village. Deep in a cursed wood she finds an impossible castle... and an impossible staff.
The rush of cold air, the thunder of hooves below her feet, the billow of her cloak behind her. Erysis could feel her heart pounding in her chest in rhythm with the horse. The woods were getting tighter and tighter, and even though the roar of voices had long since fallen away behind her, the fear had yet to release itâs hold on her. Just this morning, she had no idea how her life was about to change. The air seemed to be getting icier as the greenery flourished. Her horse cried out, forced to slow, and then leapt over a thick root; stumbling to a stop, head swinging back and forth, sides shifting rapidly as she panted. The movement had caused Erysisâ hood to fall away, revealing her long ears peeking through silver blonde strands of hair. She tugged it back up again, as she dismounted, sliding almost silently into the leaf litter.
Taking the bag that she could from the side, she undid the reins, tucking them away; the saddle she couldnât do much about, but she took just a moment to stroke her hands over the long dark face, to say goodbye. There was nothing else she could do but hope the beast would be okay, that she would find safety. There was no home for her ahead.
âGo on.â Erysis whispered, turning away, slapping the horse on the rear. âGo home.â a moment of hesitation, ears flicking, and then Clover turned, picking her way over the vines. Taking just enough time to make sure she was heading back, Erysis allowed herself to slip through the thickening trees. The pursuit behind her would never dare head into here. These woods; they were cursed. She knew that as clear as she knew she didnât deserve to be hunted, for the crime of her ancestors being who they were. Making her way through the trees, her mind ran with the threats, warnings, theories about this place. That a monster lived there. That a witch had charmed the trees. That there was something dark and twisted which would drag down any life which tried to move through it.
But as she moved, the trees didnât seem evil or haunted. Tightly packed, yes, but not deadly. The vines around her feet didnât scratch or grab, falling away beneath her steps. Then, unfolding before her; fresh green grass. Flowers. White bricks. Her head tilted up, drawn over⊠a castle. Decaying, abandoned, but unmistakably royal. A sharp breath of disbelief. The tower shimmered above her, pearlescent, and it seemed impossible. So tall, it would have to be visible! And yet she had never seen a sign of it. Something deep in her chest tingled, magic she had kept suppressed for so many years drawn towards the immense building. As she climbed up the cracked but still powerful steps, a chitter caught her ear. Twisting as she drew the short blade from her waist, trembling fingers clutching it⊠there was nothing there.
âJumping at birds, now.â she whispered, shaking her head. The door to the castle was immense but the wood was splintered; dark marks along the edges. There must have been a fire here, some time ago. As she cleared the entryway into a vast and beautiful, glittering entryway, Erysis let out a slow breath. It was beautiful. Warmer, far warmer than sheâd expected, and the walls seemed stable. She had to find somewhere good to set up a camp, figure out how to live here. As she walked, her footsteps echoed; now and again, her eyes caught more of those black marks and then⊠in what seemed to be a ballroom, on the ground, the great scorch marks became words.
Let all who live here pay the price The greed which makes monsters of mice Your bloodline shall embrace the curse Yet your fate could be worse You shall breed and spread and grow What power does you shall know
Nonplussed, she shook her head and moved deeper. The eerie message was making her hear more and more chittering. Finally finding a room, her legs aching and body chilled, she noticed that it still had some wooden scraps of what must had been a bed in one corner, and a fireplace. Gathering the broken pieces and some kindling from her bag, she built a fire, gratefully lighting it and settling back. The tingle of magic in her palms wasnât going away, and the exhaustion of the rapid flight and the fear all caught up with her. Dragging out her blanket, she curled up on the cold floor in front of the fire and tried to convince herself the chittering was just mice.
The chittering was not just mice.
âIn the name of the Gods!â she exclaimed, waking to the sight of big, bright eyes. Reflecting the firelight, shimmering like gems, she jolted back, kicking out. The creature fell away, but didnât run. In this low, warm light, itâs scales looked almost⊠beautiful. It took a moment for her to recognise the creature, knowing only descriptions from books, having never seen one before. Itâs short form and twisted hands, long tail, horns, no wings but small stubs as if it was meant to have them⊠it looked almost like a dragon, but⊠wrong. It was a little smaller than her but not by much, and when it opened itâs mouth, deadly fangs showed. Her sword, where was her sword?!
âGet away from me!â she cried, and itâs mouth spread wider and that chittering noise came from it again. If she hadnât been so afraid, it would seem⊠beautiful. The long tail, the claws⊠it was small, but deadly. The colourful scales, the gently curving coins⊠her eyes wandered down itâs body, fixing on a sheathe at itâs crotch. Her throat bobbed. It had been so long since she had laid with anyone, and the fear and exhaustion must have been making her half crazy because there was a sudden hunger pulsing through her body.
âWhat⊠what areâŠ?â âQueen.â whispered the kobold, sniffing at her again, âForgive us. Many years⊠waiting.â it cleared itâs throat and then bowed itâs head low. âWhat,â she breathed, âare you talking about?â Why in the hell was this thing calling her queen? âYou are⊠master of us. We are⊠servant⊠of the castle. We belong here.â it gestured a clawed hand. We? Something shifted in the corner of her vision and Erysis became strikingly aware of the reflection of a dozen eyes staring at her. As they moved, that chittering noise rose from them. Like a sea of precious crystals all around her. They smelt faintly musky and smoky and, unbidden, the magic in her chest surged. A small flurry of sparks danced from her fingertips, bouncing off the ground, and the creatures gasped.
âGreat⊠great one. We are⊠your servants, too.â the kobold who had been addressing her spoke again, and she noticed he was a little larger, a little more impressive. âWe do anything you ask of us. We are⊠not great, noble, like you, butâŠâ he glanced over his shoulder at the crowd and then back at her and she could have sworn his tail was wagging. âWe are⊠blessed.â he tilted his head and she found herself slowly relaxing. He wasnât a threat. None of them were a threat.
âI was being followed.â she found herself saying. âIâll need⊠something soft to sleep on. Um. Blankets or⊠or furs, something.â âFor the nest, yes, of course. Of course. We find. You rest, great queen. You will need you energy. Let us know, when I am⊠needed. For my honour.â âFor your what?â âMajesty, for your bloodline?â he stated, slowly, as if he couldnât figure out why she didnât know what he meant. Then her eyes flickered down, and realised that he was standing erect, now, a shockingly thick, deep pink cock having slid from that sheathe. A high flush on her cheeks, she shook her head.
âNo. No, no, no such service will be, um, required, thank you,â she babbled, ignoring the ache between her legs. He sniffed the air but ducked his head away willingly.
âWhatever is needed.â he said, finally, and then turned. Like a rush of leaves, the kobolds left, and she was alone.
She was fine. She didnât need to fuck a kobold.
She lasted only a few days before the desire became overwhelming.
The thick pile of blankets and furs had been provided by a few hours later. She found herself warm, comfortable, and tormented by dreams of what that thick cock would feel like inside her. She found out that the main Kobold, the one who spoke, was called Klâka. The kobolds had a way of clicking the noise in the back of their throat she couldnât quite manage, but he seemed⊠endeared. Whenever he entered the room, he would sniff carefully at the air, and he never asked, but she could tell⊠he knew she was aroused. He knew. The magic in her skin was bubbling in a way it never had before and when she snapped away to find him in the doorway, looking, torn from a dream that made her clit pulse⊠she sat up.
âKlâka,â she gasped, âI need you.â
And he was there.
The long muzzle pressed into her soft neck. Hot and slick tongue slid over her throat, up, cradling her jaw. She tilted her head back and opened her mouth and it pressed inside, making her moan. He was still musky and slightly bitter and she had never tasted anything so good. Claws slid under her clothes, shockingly gently, and a tail pressed between her legs, teasing her open with a rough scaled nub. She moaned wantonly, and didnât even care any more, grabbing onto him with every bit of power she had. He was almost reading her mind, sliding his body against hers; that pointed tip began to spread her and she cried out as he slid home in one rough movement. He wasnât gentle, and that was good, because she didnât want gentle. He was taking her like an animal, like a kobold, he was breeding her, honouring her bloodline and all she wanted was to feel⊠feelâŠ
Her body tensed around him and she screamed, clenching, legs wrapping around his hips and trapping him deep as his cock pulsed and pulsed and pulsed, a knot slowly swelling, trapping them together. He was warmer than sheâd expected, slowly relaxing as they lay entangled atop her furs. Her nails scraped the softer gaps between his scales and her mind drifted into a warm, foggy contentment. This was right.
When she stirred a few hours later, at the sensation of him slowly slipping loose, far less cum oozed out than she expected. There was a new sound, a low contented chirr, and a snout nuzzling into her belly. Reaching down, nails scratched along his snout then settled on her belly. Her⊠notably swollen belly. Jolting, Erysis sat up just a little, eyes widening as she took in her appearance. There were smears of slick, but her belly⊠it had started to curve. Dense with kobold cum and⊠oh. Oh, it felt like it was bubbling, and she gasped, head falling back. Throbbing, aching. His hand rested atop it, stroking so tenderly.
âSo long since we have seen this,â he whispered, âWe have always been good servants of the castle. We knew we continue for good reason. To see bloodline return.â âWaitâŠâ she moaned. The intensity of the bubbling was overwhelming. She was growing, fast, pulses and throbs and she realised what this was. Eggs. A clutch. Oh, by the Gods, she was going to lay a clutch of Kobold eggs and they were growing so fast and she was shaking all over. As her hand stroked over the now almost full term bulge that had been her flat belly, something shifted, and she gasped.
âSo fast.â Klâkr chittered happily, tail wagging. âOh! Yes, Majesty⊠you are become what you are meant to be.â and she could see now, where her belly had stretched, the skin looked⊠different. Scales. A handful of scales had started to flourish. Her jaw was aching at the back, her hands, ripples of pain interrupted by a tightening in her belly. âYou are perfect.â he purred, and yes, yes, you are perfect, her brain provided as the first egg started to stretch her. The pain and ache of the movement, her legs automatically tenting, she cried out as something her hips cracked. As the egg started to full broach her, the burn and ache and tightness of it, there was a tension and then a release and she came as it spurted loose, white heat overwhelming her.
When her eyes opened again, she could see a little better past her belly. Klâkr was cradling an egg in his hands and she could just about make out the scales continuing to grow over her thighs and crotch. Shimmering, pearlescent just like the castle, pale purples into golds but now she was being overwhelmed with another egg and her belly trembled but this one seemed easier. Her body was shifting, being made more suited to lay the eggs. âMy queen,â Klâkr whispered, gently laying it down in the furs and settling between her legs again, âI am honoured to continue your bloodline.â âMy bloodlineâŠâ she whispered, foggily, and then tensed around the next, the push, slick, pop, the relief and pleasure and aching emptiness. âYes, majesty. The bloodline of dragons.â Klâkr chittered, and she came again, lost in white light.
