Three great recent pieces I got from @nicholas-anderson in where Kaim, Agwel, and Ghelmer are given redesigns based around if they had shown up in his Devilman fan comic from back in the day
basically when I shared an old page showcasing Wagreb, he mentioned that if he was doing the comic in more recent times, his design philosophy for the demons would've been pretty different which reminded me that Kaim and the two other demons didn't show up in his second book despite Sirene being a major antagonist like the second ova and so I asked for them to be designed in the book's style if he had shown up.
For Kaim Nick tried to make him slightly more agile, such as him swiping with his paws, or rearing up on his hind legs (coincidentally thought of a more "humanoid" Kaim look but that's for another day). I also like his little chin tusks.
Next is Agwel with a much more elongated look akin to plant monsters rather than earthy mud (always thought of him as a bit more of a bruiser if he had a more physical body, akin to Clayface). For this look he could spread his eyeballs across a surface, spying on people like Argos the Eyeball beast from the Lady anime.
And finally is Ghelmer! This one gives me a bit Spawn Violator vibes, least from the face, and Nick turned his head-wings into mandibles. He was gonna have eyestalks grow out his back, but Nick decided it was too busy. He originally had his more clawed hands but would be switched with crustaceans-like claws to help push the aquatic theme. It was attempted to make his top half look more solid, incidentally taking some cues from GoW Poseidon. Was also reminded of a character from Gormiti named Lavion, though ironically he's lava themed.
