Gigs… At 52 Years Old?
Being a musician in general should really have nothing to do with age, but it has a lot to do with experience. When a musician who is over 40 years old is performing at a professional level, this comes as no surprise, since most people would equate older age to having years of experience behind them. However, when a younger musician comes up in the scene, many see this is having some sort of innate talent since they lack the number of years most of us have in the same field. So basically, we adore the younger DJs who have made it further than what DJ did before them. The flipside of this is the older DJs who are still in the club scene. We’re talking about guys who are in their late 50’s and 60’s, who still find it in themselves to spin for a club audience. I suppose as long as their music is legit, nobody should care about how they look – but I think for the DJ himself (or herself), there can be a lot of self doubt about how the crowd will treat you. Just know that there are actually many DJs out there who are still pursuing this hobby at an older age. http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2013/11/start-getting-dj-gigs-52-years-old/
