Oh my gosh, no. @lionhearthopkins and I had a conversation ages ago about the reactions that might elicit, so I’m not planning on sitting in anyone’s lap unless they’re female anytime ever again, no matter how affectionate I may be with my friends.

So I guess... Maybe @goyleandtrouble? Apart from Kelsey, who’s my sister from another lousy mister, Lo’s the person I get along with the best and who I feel like really helps bring out the best side of me. I never thought about it because it was never an option, with her history with Kels, but I could see a life where I’d be really happy with her.

Dear Diary, 

I thought today was going to be a complete disaster. You know how History of Magic is both my favorite and least favorite class at the same time, because I think it’s really interesting but everyone else but Zoe hates it, or else uses it as time to stare at Professor Rogers’s bum? I thought things were finally going better since I sit with Zo in that class instead of Kelsey (I love her but Merlin, she needs to stop trying to aim spitballs at the Slytherins, but they’re going to land me in detention someday even though I’m innocent!). But Zoe was sick today, and I thought I was going to be stuck sitting alone in the front row today and everyone would just laugh at me for being a dork with no friends :(

So that brings me to my real story...I think I might have made a new friend today! Well, at least I hope I did, I’ll keep my fingers crossed. I was sitting alone and in the back of the classroom, Isabel Nott and scary Lauren Goyle started laughing at something, and Professor Rogers made them move! I’d never seen him do that before and I don’t know if he was just having a bad day or it was just because we had an open seat for a change, but he told one of them to move and I had my fingers crossed that it would be Isabel, since she seems nicer... but it was Lauren.

Everyone thinks Lauren’s scary because her family were Death Eaters, but I don’t get why. Sitting with her for forty-five minutes has totally changed my opinion of her. She takes good notes, even if she does still look at Professor Rogers’s butt a little too much, and when we were talking about how Egyptian wizards were believed to have been the ones to build the pyramids, we actually ended up having a side-conversation about whether we thought the Egyptian gods were wizards or just myths. It was really interesting, and I hope I’ll get to sit with her again! She’s smart and she even cracked a history joke that made me laugh, and if Zoe’s sick again on Friday and I have to sit with Lauren again... well, I maybe wouldn’t complain O:-)
