Eh, it's mostly that most of the dwarves in the hobbit don't feel like the ones in the book. Like, I get there's the struggle of trying to make 13 different characters distinct, but I felt like they a) made a bunch of them more hobbit-like than dwarf-like in appearance (in my opinion anyway) because everyone loves hobbits (WHERE ARE THE BEARDS. WHERE ARE THE BEARDS, I SAY) and then b) realized their dwarves didn't really feel like dwarves anymore, panicked, and said "oh i know how to make anything more dwarvish! let's make them ridiculously crude"

Like seriously.

Take Gimli for example--he might be a bit grumpy and even belligerent at times, but in the book he's one or more of the well educated and well-spoken manners of the fellowship, in his own way.

Compare this to, oh let's say, DAIN IN THE MOVIE. Or just how the dwarves comport themselves in Rivendell. Just because Dwarves and Elves have issues doesn't mean they'd treat their host's house with disrespect! What about the laws of hospitality???? It's completely against their culture and their nature. It's poor worldbuilding. Worse, it's ripping off good worldbuilding and substituting it with poor worldbuilding for a couple cheap laughs.

In a world, where intimate partner violence is the most common violence against women, why did we have to see that played out on screen for two of our most favorite characters? For characters we’ve been wanting to see together for years? For this to be the ultimate end for Jonerys, all it says is it doesn’t matter how perfect your are for each other, you’re gonna fuck it up and it’s gonna end – and it’s gonna end painfully and violently. JFC, they were supposed to be our heroes

Exactly, that is the most disgusting thing of it all, isn’t it? With the show being as big and as popular as it was them sending such a fucked up message like that? Revolting.

Why making jonerys a thing? Parallels, foreshadowing, etc say those two were meant to happen. Dany going mad and Jon murdering her was not. I just can’t pretend they planned this years ago, nah… Those two idiots came up with that idea after season 7 in the 10 minutes it took them to write season 8 I’m telling you. Why? For the ultimate shock, the tragedy of a love story: A woman being put down by the man she loves, the man having to kill the woman he loves for the greater good, oh the tragedy! The heroes, the main characters won’t get the ending you expected! BITTERsweet ending in their minds. Expectations Subverted!

I’ll play the devil advocate here and say that they didn’t think through about how bad it would look and how awful of a message it would send to the audience.
