hey! on the back of your reblog about the decline in US transport networks - do you know of any reliable resources on historic US train travel times/routes? i've been trying to learn about a specific journey in the 1920s and i assumed there'd be some handy database to query that academics or railfans would have loaded with old schedules - but i can't find anything useful! long shot, but eternally grateful for any ideas!
That is an amazing question that I unfortunately have no good answer to! I know a lot depends on what resources have been digitized and whether the people who own them have linked up to consolidate that information.
So I open the floor: any transit historians out there care to share your wealth of information?
