I think one of the most fascinating aspects of Spy x Family is that despite being a shonen, where the cast in this genre usually features teenagers with some adults here and there due to being aimed at a teenage demographic, the franchise’s main characters and supporting cast is comprised of nearly every age group EXCEPT teenagers. You have the adults (eg. Loid, Yor, Franky, Fiona, etc), toddlers (eg. Anya, Damian, Becky, etc), and senior citizens (Henry and Martha).
Spy x Family‘s characters consists of various age groups but there’s barely a teenager in sight and it isn’t limited to which age group gets to do stuff that matters either. Not that there's anything wrong with having teens as protagonists, but making the main protagonist a man possibly in his late 20s or early 30s and the main character group being two adults, a child, and a dog is quite refreshing and one of the reasons why these characters stand out so much.
Both people are me.

I know we're about 50/50 on whether or not we'll actually see Loid in the hospital next chapter. But if we do! Hear me out. The difference between Nightfall walking in vs Yor walking in while he's hooked up to a heart monitor.
And maybe Silvia too because he's afraid of her and that's funny.
Fic idea: WISE-Garden cultural exchange
My dad told me that in the old days in China when you wanted to train up your son in your trade, you would send him to apprentice under a friend in the same trade instead of training him up yourself to avoid bias and ingrained habits within the family. And your friend would send his son to apprentice under you.
Imagine a post reveal scenario where WISE and Garden are allies, and Handler and Shopkeeper get along great as work spouses. And at one of their regular coffee chats the topic of their most difficult employees comes up.
“There’s this young man I’m afraid I’ve been too lenient with, mostly out of pity. Insists on living like a hermit and refuses to get a phone, which makes contacting him for assignments quite a hassle. He’s prone to fits of rage and even attacks other Garden members without provocation.”
“Ah, sounds like one of my rogue agents. Very talented, but single-minded and stubborn to a fault. It’s a crapshoot whether she obeys orders or throws them to the wind. She’s antagonized many fellow agents but also your Thorn Princess, and surprisingly hasn’t yet learned her lesson.”
“Hmm. Ms. Sherwood, might I propose a potential path forward for our unruly subordinates? An employee exchange of sorts?”
“What a novel idea. Tell me more, Shopkeeper.”
Days later, “Mr. Jones” shows up at WISE all ornery and annoyed that he has to learn from Westalian spies, only for the Fullmetal Lady to cut him off mid-rant and lay down the law as she did on rookie Twilight.
Agent Nightfall walks into Garden HQ for tea with her new boss, only to take a sip and become literally paralyzed as he lays out the draconian rules for her apprenticeship.
(I just want to see Sylvia straightening out Hemlock! Fic idea free to take as always)
