When I went down on break and he was there coming back from lunch, I asked him why he was mad at me. He growled, "This isn't the place." I shrugged and went back to staring at the wall. I had absolutely no desire to coddle him or try to get him to talk to me, at that point or during the rest of my shift.

After I clocked out I found him in the break room and knelt next to him and stared (he was sitting and there wasn't another chair). I know he was expecting something from me, but had no clue what it was so I said nothing since I suck at talking. Eventually I got him to explain what I had done wrong this time (sigh), turns out my tone was wrong when I spoke to him earlier (he keeps forgetting I have a naturally low/hard voice).  I set him straight when he walked me out to the parking lot by saying I have no control over tone, so take me at the words coming out of my mouth. He said okay, we both said sorry and then it was done. He also did sign onto messenger to talk and say goodnight to me after he got home.

We don't really have fights/arguments because I'm not a passionate person. I have the habit of not often asserting myself when people don't care about my opinion, which has been almost constant in my life.  But I don't know if the fact that I don't care about his tantrums is a bad sign. I kept thinking that if he wants to act like a whiny child then I won't try to stop him. I wasn't upset or hurt; I just wondered if he was gonna explode at me at some point.

Is it wrong that I was too tired to care? How does he expect me to elaborate when I have a line of customers to check out? I guess the big question is: Why does me make me feel wrong for being me?
