“Karma has a way of working and doing its due diligence.”

“We make our own paths in life, Genji, you of all people should be aware of this.”
Akande regarded the walking weapon with a careful expression. How much the renowned Shimada had changed since the incident that nearly slew him. Their dynasty was such an important player in the global game, and here the heir to it all remained, explaining karma, of all things. Disappointing.
“If we relied on karma to punish those wicked, tell me, how would the leaders maintain their position? Would the world be equal? Because as it remains now, those oppressed remain dead in fields while the wicked sit in their palaces of gold. They do not learn, and will not learn, unless forced to. Face it, Genji, there is no place for Karma in the new world.”
“You have sorely misunderstood my words, Akande.”
Though he doesn’t face Ogundimu directly, Genji remains standing at a safe distance, remembering all too well how minute carelessness had ended his last encounter with the man.
“You are right, tyrants’ hands do need to be forced. But wouldn’t you agree that the fact some rise against them represent karma at work? Sooner or later, their actions catch up to them, and invariably their downfall is caused by the ripples of something they caused themselves.”
He eventually turns to return the other’s glare. He tapped his fist to his chest twice, making the thud of his prosthetic hand against his armor resonate.
“I, of all people, am aware that actions have consequences. These are what define our path.”
