he first met you at the mountains after sundown, sensing your presence meters away
you seemed quiet and fragile and therefore, he took it to his advantage and made sure to end you quickly
yeah, that didn't go as planned
because when his makeshift wooden weapon was mere inches away from your neck, you jumped away and began to attack him with no relent
and when his weapon grazed you, your wounds regenerate just as quick as it was wounded
your fight lasted until the moon was high up in the sky and you knew that he was out of stamina
deciding to end this fruitless fight, you broke his wooden weapon
you were surprised that he didn't stop, began to fight you bare handed
you thought he was a nuisance
he is, actually
and so, you went with the next best thing, wounding him on an organ
there, he calmed down and sat beside you after realizing everything was futile
after that, he urged you to tell how you became a demon
you can't tell since you don't remember anything from your human days
inosuke decides that you are useful for battles and takes it upon himself to bring you with him everywhere
you silently agreed too, you found his flexibility scary but intriguing at the same time
he made a box of you out of wood and stones
even though you were quiet, he sensed that you were uncomfortable with the sharp and hard surface of the box
all he got was the widening of your eyes when he brought back a chunk of lion's skin to place inside your box
you punched him hard in the face. how can he expect that you'd sit in a box with semi-fresh lion blood!?
after two nights bickering and settling stuff, he brought you along wherever he goes
you got attached to the boar head so you just went along with him, not having anything better to do
you'd help him fight other demons, because you, though blurred, remember how one killed your mother
he marvels at how you're composed and unwavering everytime
you were also quite skilled in fighting and did not require his aid
when he told you about him joining the corps, you contemplated getting away from him
yeah, he didn't let you, because he needed you in battles
and because he also grew attached (heβll never admit this)
soon, you two met tanjiro and nezuko, and you two aren't so lonely anymore
you'd always fight alongside him on his solo missions and find herbs whenever his injuries are too serious
you seem indifferent and unbothered but inosuke knows you care, silently and in your own way
inosuke was just on his way home that fateful sunset, he never felt it in his intuition that heβd find his home, in you

he met you at his training grounds late at night, when he was silently practicing behind his grandfatherβs back
you looked at ease and charming under the moonlight, sitting on the grass as you watched the flowers dance
but your combat skills were the opposite
because he accidentally let go of the first technique of breath of thunder and you began to attack him, recognizing danger as the thunder resonated
but when he tried to strike back, youβd just skillfully evade him and snicker at how he was cryingΒ
the fight did not last long, zenitsu passing out from the fright and fear you brought him
the nights progressed like that
him spying on you as you laid on the grass and admired the moon
you got fed up and asked him things, striking up random conversations
he did too, eager to know more about the demon under the moon
so he got attached
you got attached
you two'd only meet at night, duh his grandpa's a former hashira
soon, he entered the final selection, and you saw him off
he returned a week later, still teary eyed
he started to create a wooden box for you to stay in during his missions (which he's very reluctant to attend)
he filled them with flowers and other decorations and blankets to make you comfortable
you're more part of the corps than he is
simply because you're the one who gets the job done all the time
you fight the demons, evacuate the civilians, calm him down and do everything else
he's very grateful though! and tries to help in other ways
you both met tanjiro and nezuko soon enough, and you were glad to have more company
you were zenitsu's reassurance during his solo missions, and he tries so hard to keep up with you
zenitsu just wanted to train that night, but he was flad to have an encounter with you under the moonlight

he came back to the forest after a shower, freezing in his steps when he felt a demon nearby
taking his gun, he went to the source of the scent and aura
he saw you perched on top of the boulder, looking upwards as you swung your feet around
not hesitating, he fired his gun
only to freeze when you evaded the attack, head whipping to his direction
he was puzzled when you did not show any intent to attack nor to harm him
all you did was stare at him for a few moments, before tapping the space beside you and going back to staring to space
β "you have a rare blood. it makes me feel thirsty, but somehow you also feel like one of us"
seeing your guard down, he did the same, relaying to you his abilities and skills
you told him in turn your experiences when you are human and how you plan to go on as a demon
you two exchanged words and stories under the night sky, all the way until the sun was nearing the horizon
you hopped off the boulder and waved goodbye to him, fading deep into the forest
he knew a friendship was not possible if he wanted to continue to learn under gyomei
you knew a friendship was not possible because he was a demon hunter
both of you knew that this was only a chance encounter, meant to end just as quick as it began
but to genya, the demon who sat on top of the boulder and stared at the stars while listening to his pathetic story left an imprint in his heart
