âThese things have to be at least somewhat eldritch.â Sixer frowned at one of the strange, frog-like things that had taken up residence in the woods. âAt least theyâve figured out that our house isnât a place they can simply wander into.â
His green-eyed twin snorted and picked up one of the three amphibians theyâd stumbled across in the woods. âI sure hope so. Is there anything thatâll really kill these things?â
âBelieve me, if I find the answer, youâll be the first to know,â Sixer replied dryly. âIn the meantime, we need to make sure these things arenât going to upend the local ecosystem as we know it.â
âSure. You do that, anâ Iâll find out whatâll end these...these cosmic horror frogs.â
The two frogs Crescent hadnât grabbed seemed to exchange looks with each other before hopping off into the underbrush. The one in his grip flailed about, hanging by one leg. It seemed to be thinking about taking a bite out of his hand.
