Fitton, Gdansk, XinZhou!
Fitton  - Describe something that makes you truly happy!Baking: to be more specific, when I bake something challenging for the first time and it actually turns out really well. Also, whenever someone likes anything I've written :P It's the simple pleasures in life...
Gdansk - Favourite dessert? No, how dare you make me pick... How dare you?! Um, I'm a huge fan of chewy things, especially Malaysian kueh. Also anything super-caramelized (we're talking almost burnt here) with salt and some uber-dark chocolate (75% or higher) and I'm one very happy Flourish.
Xinzhou - What’s your favourite season? Favourite type of weather? As much as I like to complain about the snow now that I live in Montreal, I love winter. This may have something to do with the fact that my birthday, Christmas, and Chinese New Year's are all in winter (so. much. food), or maybe the fact that holiday baking is the best thing ever (ginger molasses cookies, people. So good). Regardless, my perfect day involves snow in the morning, a bright blue sky in the afternoon to reflect off the fresh powder, and more snow in the evening so that the streets are muffled and everything is soft and cozy and wonderful.Â
the link on the 'women losing jobs over leaked nudes' post goes to the gay-curious map... :P might wanna edit it

OTP FEELS
EXACTLY! UGH THEY ARE SO PERFECT I WANT TO CRY
Molly had always loved to bake. Ever since she’d first stood on a kitchen chair to help her mum mix together a cake for her aunt’s birthday and seen how throwing a bunch of things together in a bowl could result in a beautiful and delicious confection, she’d been hooked. There was nothing quite like forgetting all your worries for a little while as you concentrated on getting just the right amount of fluff in your whipped cream or figuring out the exact ratio of chocolate chips to batter. It was like science, but you got to eat the results at the end and there was no chance of anything going too horribly wrong in the process.
Martin was a disaster. One batch of batter had already been ruined by his apparent inability to tell salt from sugar, another thrown in the trash after he had poured approximately half of the bottle of vanilla into the mix, and this one wasn’t looking too great either. For a man who was obsessed with following rules and regulations down to their last letter Martin was incapable of following recipe directions, something that both made Molly laugh and want to tear her hair out in frustration. She hadn’t even given him anything difficult to do, leaving the measuring and melting in her more experienced hands, and even still he was managing to get under her feet at every turn.
“Do I really have to measure out the sugar?”
“Which kind of flour are we using again?”
“Oh, damn. Err, Molly, how necessary is butter for the recipe?”
But finally, finally they had managed to pull together a decently usable bit of cake batter and even gotten them in the oven with no major mishaps. That in itself was a major accomplishment, and Molly felt like she could finally see the finish line coming into view with only one major hurdle left to leap – the icing. She’d been dreading this bit ever since she’d seen the much too vigorous way that Martin had beaten eggs into submission, but it wasn’t as though they could go without icing. Cupcakes with no icing weren’t cupcakes at all, they were…disappointing muffins. And if this whole ordeal was going to be worth the effort then she at least needed to have some sugary goodness to show for it.
When the small, rather lumpy cupcakes had finally been pulled from the oven and the too-thin icing had been assembled in a small explosion of powdered sugar that would take days to clean up completely, Molly allowed herself a small sigh of relief. The worst was over now, and even if she had sugar in her hair and nearly everything in the kitchen had somehow gotten sticky, at least they had the parts they needed to put together some mostly edible deserts. And besides, even Martin couldn’t mess up this step too badly.
“Ok Martin, all we have to do is frost them now. Just use this knife here to spread on as much as you want, and I’ll get started cleaning up these bowls and things. Sound good?”
Things finally seemed like they were going right – until approximately two minutes into the frosting process when Molly heard a frustrated “Oh damn it” sighed out through gritted teeth behind her. Turning around from the sink to see what could have possibly gone wrong, it took a sudden and monumental force of will to keep herself from bursting out laughing at the sight of her poor boyfriend absolutely covered in icing. She couldn’t even begin to imagine how he’d gotten it in his hair or all the way up his arms, but somehow he’d managed and he looked about ready to explode from frustration.
“This is – I just – why can’t I do this, Molly?” he spluttered throwing down the knife he’d been holding and grabbing at a towel to clean himself off with no success whatsoever.
She stepped across the kitchen to take the towel away from him, catching hold of his hands to stop him from smearing the icing even more than it already was and forcing him to look at her. “Hey, hey, calm down. They’re just cupcakes, it’s not the end of the world. And besides, no one said you were going to be a professional baker on your first try, it takes practice.”
“I know,” he sighed, looking down at the floor in embarrassment, “but you’re just so good at this and I keep messing it up just like I mess up everything else. Why can’t I just manage to do something simple for once?”
A swift wave of sadness swept over Molly to see him looking so dejected, but she pushed it aside in favor of a smile and with a gentle finger under the chin tilted his face up to meet her eyes. “Martin, you fly an aeroplane almost every day, and you do a damn good job of it. That’s more than most people can say, and it’s way more impressive than being able to make some silly cakes, alright?” He hesitated for a moment and then nodded, and a quick but wicked smile flashed across Molly’s face. “And besides, I can think of one or two other things that you’re good at too.”
Martin’s frustration changed to a look of confusion, but that too vanished in an instant when Molly leaned in close to lick a stray bit of frosting off his neck. By the time she grinned up at him again he had flushed a brilliant but happy crimson, and when she licked her lips appreciatively to get every last bit of icing his blush only deepened. “Delicious. Do you want to find out if the rest tastes just as good?”
The rest of the icing never made it on the cupcakes, but that was no matter. There were other ways to eat it after all.
