He was Itos, god of war, the sky, and gold. He was the first general, the far reaching hand, and the closest thing to a king amongst the gods.
In his last days, when the world was bloated with empire, Itos drew strength from the mad exultation born of the conquests of the Valcoth Empire, and in exchange bestowed twisted blessing upon their sorcerer kings, ordaining their greed as divine writ.
The other gods, realizing too late the danger of their mad king, rallied against Itos in the heavens above as mortal nations were dragged into war after war with the Valcoth Empire below.
What followed was a hundred compounding tragedies. The world tore itself apart as each old god fell, as each weapon too terrible to name was let loose.
Old gods fell, and new ones rose on top of cannibalized mantles.
