The AFSSA is a version of the IMA’s AFS adapted for space combat. Though well-armed, the suit was not liked by its pilots: it lacked maneuvering thrusters, was short-ranged and the armor was insufficient. As a result, the unfortunate nickname of “Luna Pawn” was soon applied. Though a space combat version of the superior SAFS was developed, the Pawn was cheap and easy to produce, and kits were shipped to the moon for assembly until late in the war.
This is the Wave release of the kit, painted in ghost gray and a heavy wash of gray grime. I added an opalescent film, usually used to stimulate HUDs on aircraft, to emulate an anti-dazzle faceplate. The base is wood painted gloss black, with bentonite clay and some rocks I found.
