Round 2 of rescuing bees from this cupola, after the first rescue it was not fully sealed and a new swarm moved in. The residual smell of comb is highly attractive to bees. These bees are so incredible, look at how much comb they built out in less than four months! π― Except these bee possibly have a percentage of Africanized genetics (A. m. scutellata) because they are very defensive. I say defensive because bees are not aggressive, they just get a bad rap for you know...killing themselves protecting their home. π€Ί I took out and almost filled 5 frames, but there's probably another 3 to 5 still up there. I started taking a fair amount of stings so decided to stop and let them chill out...to bee continued π³π³π³πππ _ #livebeeresuce #savethebees #africanizedbees #Apismelliferascutellata #bees #honeybees #apis #beekeeping #beekeepers #beekeepingtherapy #apiculture #certifiedbeekeepers #beehivesmatter #beestings #beestingtherapy #southfloridabeekeepingassociation #fiubeekeeping #almostround2 #skateordie #beesordie #inbeeswetrust (at Miami Beach Botanical Garden) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4DET4iA85L/?igshid=nq7wut3em7el

I dreamt last night I found a heap of roots humming
a sound I felt writhing in my bones
I washed the dirt away to find their parts woven
spectres of foliage loom
held the bound roots in a fist and through the warmth pulse
oozed
juice
slow
like honey
from the colonies
Africanized bees came swarming around me
dancing their vision
and I forgot the aeons of hypnotic starlings mirroring their movement
They have all the colours in their fibre of being
The less africanized
the gentler the native the less fly the fresher
juices of papaya and mango
in a basket
in a boat
They have all the colours in their fibre of being
Their radiant rage echoes the thirst of their ancestors on the other side of seas
And through the woven layers of the colonized tongues, scents and honey
A Wayuu Womxn draws you in
and sings of earth, sea, seeds
and sees her vision humming
