✑ PROCESSING: pick a fic and I’ll tell you what it was like to write it!

A have a LOT to say abou this, the concept of this fic is everything to me so I will be yapping.

Okay, weird fact to drop but it will make sense, so i missed a lot of the quintesintial 'tumblr' experience. One of those things being Omegaverse. When I first came across it, I was floored, even grossed out.... look how that turned out. One of the early questions I had getting into it was: "these people have animal traits and instincts right? So how come every fic I read they just act like normal people but now, theres pregnant men?" And dont tell me you think its weird bc this whole concept is weird. LET IT BE WEIRD. So yeah, that, paired with the fact Ive been dying to play into secondary gender roles, paired with my insistence coriolanus would have a gross relationship with women/sexuality birthed Affliction. As for actually writing it, Im having a blast. Its a weird fic, a lot of the research has gone into two violently different topics: animal behaviors and historical fascism. But both of those things work so seamlessly into the story, the discomforting references to fascist rhetorics spread by the budding parties in the 1930s/40s (the weak eat the strong) paired with animal kingdom metaphors (fox eating the rabbit) pair so horrIfyingly well.

Anyway, writing this fic is a blast. I'd like to post my masterlist for the abo headcanons and traits soon as its just been fun. Giving Coriolanus, and even Sejanus if you squint, animalistic traits is so much fun. Somebody pointed out in the last chapter, but I couldnt resist myself with Coriolanus's scared cat moment with the CPR dummy.

So, so many things. So actually a downside to writing No Return is that theres so much happening at any given moment its insane to keep it all in track. I'd tried to keep it true to source material like that, where every chapter just feels like whiplash. But If I HAD to pick one, I think its the Coriolanus and his super normal reaction to gore. Watching your dad take himself out with a twelve gauge is horrifying, and as we've learned from the most recent chapters (and this only gets worse), Coriolanus is really not normal around death and dead bodies... oh no, right?

Oh, and close second is the "this is my sponser Coriolanus." as Livia tells Arachne and her fiance thats she's violently high and puking in their bushes, that made me laugh.

Considering Coriolanus's canon disdain for dirt, cannibalism and nature in general, it's shockingly easy to keep him in character in this fic.
