ben is currently a professor of history at the university of georgia, and teaches with a focus in black history. after susan was shot at the hands of one of bobbi’s enemies, ben was the person to put an ultimatum on bobbi; either choose the family and leave the business, or choose the business and leave the family. ultimately, bobbi chose the latter, and she hasn’t spoken to ben since.

  their differences largely boil down to how they live their lives. bobbi doesn’t try to split her attention between being a superhero and being a spy. clint, on the other hand, tries to live up to steve rogers and other superheroes that he sees as having high moral standards. their collective attitudes can’t often be navigated for long, as one’s way of living always ultimately drives the other away. still, clint remains the first love of bobbi’s life, and she, one of his.

   NAME  :  morse, robert william.    DATE  OF  BIRTH  :  december 3, 1953.    FACECLAIM  :  taye diggs.    RELATION  :  missing/presumed dead father, the eldest member of the morse shield legacy.     OCCUPATION  :  shield agent (secretly, formerly); stockbroker (cover, formerly).    DETAILS  :  bobbi morse was always a bit of a daddy’s girl.  they were quite literally inseparable from the time that she was born until his disappearance when she was ten years old.  susan and robert’s handlers devised cover stories to keep the truth from getting out to his children;  he had been a shield agent from his mid twenties, and had gone missing, presumed dead, on mission.  rather than that truth, bobbi was told that he walked out on them, out of susan’s fear that learning about shield would drive bobbi or her brother, benjamin, to want to join.  robert morse was one of shield’s best kept secrets from the time of his death/disappearance when bobbi was ten. it wasn’t until she was in her late twenties that she ever learned the circumstances surrounding his disappearance while on mission. to this day, in her eyes, he remains the warm, supportive idol that used to take her to camps, show her how to look at stars, and went to every gymnastics meet that he could afford to get to.  he was the one who got her into science, and inspired bobbi to pursue a phd from georgia tech at the age of nineteen.

    NAME  :  morse, susan katherine  (née lee).     ALIAS  :  mom, mrs. morse.     DATE  OF  BIRTH  :  april 17, 1957.     OCCUPATION  :  teacher.     FACECLAIM  :  danielle nicolet.     RELATION  :  mother, estranged.      MEDICAL  CONDITIONS  :  heart murmur.      DETAILS  :  as the mother of two young, fairly rambunctious children with a husband who was out of the house for a good amount of the time, susan’s main goal was to make sure her children were consistently high achievers. bobbi and her brother, ben, were often sent off to clubs, sports teams, science fairs, anything that susan thought might help them get ahead in the world.  bobbi’s relationship with susan was at times contentious, with susan often providing the physical and mental needs that bobbi needed to succeed, but rarely the emotional ones that bobbi needed to feel connected.     from the time that bobbi was about twenty three until twenty eight. susan believed that her daughter was dead, due to an accident of bobbi’s own manufacturing. their relationship was never properly repaired after clint revealed to susan that bobbi was, in fact, alive.  she has not seen her mother in nearly a decade since that incident, but bobbi often checks in on her mother and her brother from afar.
