Originally an acronym for the Association for Computer Operations Management, the organisation was created in 1980. AFCOM organizes the annual Data Center World conference, which hosts spring and autumn events in various locations around the US. Intended for professionals in the technology industry, the Data Center World conference offers attendants the latest in commercial and technology tools and information designed to enhance and improve the technology side of any business.
Each event provides the more than 1,000 guests with networking breakfasts, keynote addresses, receptions, and exhibitions. The 2016 conference, which took place in March in Las Vegas, offered more than 70 educational sessions in fields such as design, power and cooling systems, and the evolution of information technology.
