Believe it or not, all of these failed attempts at accessing my online AETNA account are still more user-friendly and helpful than actually speaking with one of their reps on the phone. I’ve spent countless hours on the phone trying to simply *PROCESS* a claim that has been mysteriously (by all accounts) stalled for three years. Initially, they tried to deny coverage for my son’s birth claiming that he was on my insurance when I never once indicated that on any of the paper work. Then, they just dragged feet. I get more respect and assistance from the bill collection agency than the insurance company. They’re stingy with explanations, apologies and instructions. If this is what they do for a customer on one of their premium products, just imagine what they’re doing for the ACA recipients. Don’t be fooled into thinking they’re the victim of the government.
