I am working on the next chapter do not worry folks. I've just hit a road block with motivation and also work has been kicking my ass. Yk how it is. Have a little snippet to tide you over :)
Bee sat atop a mound of hay next to the barn, listening to birds chirping and leaves rustling in the wind. The tranquility and calm was something he admired most about the planet; it made him feel more connected in all the years he spent isolated.
He's not from Earth, true, but he wonders if he would've felt in place had he been created long before the war. Despite the energon spilled and sparks snuffed, there was an odd loneliness he couldn't quite place during his time on Cybertron.
It doesn't matter now, he rationalized, I might never be able to go back.
Bee was taken from his thoughts at the sound of pedesteps, leading him to look up towards the barn's entrance. Breakdown was walking out of the dugout, rotating an arm as he stretched it idly.
Bee's optics drifted to Breakdown's, sky blue taking in the swirling ambers that made his spark race. The stunticon noticed his staring and smirked. Oh no, Bee knew that smile.
βLike what see?β Breakdown chuckled softly, lowering his arm to rest on his hip plate. βYou keep telling me we need to keep this on the down-low, but I think you need to tell yourself that.β
A scoff slipped out as Bumblebee looked away, faceplate scrunching into a frown. βI don't know what you mean. I was just waiting for you to say something. That's all.β

Introducing the Krabby Pa- I mean my Breakbee fic!!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the
Organization for Transformative Works
I'm gonna try and update once every week, maybe twice if I get hit with a writing boost (dont count on it), but I'm really hoping y'all enjoy!
This was beta read by my good friend @that-fanperson-meg , shout out. Love you bestie.
Summary and snippet under the cut!
Summary:
After a rescue mission goes slightly awry the autobot's scout, Bumblebee, now has to juggle making sure his best friend doesn't get offlined by his family and this weird fluttering feeling in his spark whenever he's near said best friend.
Snippet:
βNo I get it.β Breakdown turned back to Bee, causing the scout to lower his arm just in time to look his friend in the optics. βI'm just mad at myself for siding with them in the first place. I only really went along since the other stunticons did.β
βSorry, brother.β Breakdown raised a closed servo to the dome's walls, leading Bumblebee to do the same. Their fists gently tapped the barrier, watching as green waves rippled against its surface. Green energy crackled against their servos as the two held them there for a brief moment.
Breakdown raised a closed servo to the dome's walls, leading Bumblebee to do the same. Their fists gently tapped the barrier, watching as green waves rippled against its surface. After so much time separated and finally Bumblebee knew where Breakdown was. Only for the two to be separated by another obstacle. He wanted to desperately grab Breakdown, hold onto him like the lifeline he was.

A fic based on Dusk Knight's journey through KAFTL and their potential involvement in it.
ΰΌΆβ’βββ§ββ
The day started like any other. Dusk was flying towards Castle Dedede, having spent the night at their main home in Whispy Woods.
It was early in the day, early enough to where most were still getting ready to go out. Good. They wouldn't be stopped by anyone on their way to the castle.
The air was crisp and fresh thanks to the land's latent dream magic. It provided the winged puff with a much needed energy boost, as they had spent the previous night agonizing over the strangest of dreams.
It was not that dream that haunted them since they first entered this dimension, no, those dreams finally ended after they reunited with their father. This new dream was ... well it was definitely strange, for one.
Part of it brought a sense of unease, like waiting for a bomb to go off. And they couldn't clearly remember what happened. It was more feelings and brief flashes of color. Fear, that was the predominant feeling.
They also felt anger, but they were sure it wasn't theirs. The vague shape of something pink and round flashed through their mind, and with it brought the vague feeling or protectivness.
Dusk shook the overwhelming thoughts away, letting their wings take them back on course as they had started to drift off. Something in the air felt off, despite its normal feeling. Perhaps the paranoia of all those stories was getting to them.
The magic in the air seemed a bit more tense. Something was wrong...
No! No more of these thoughts! They needed something to distract themselves ... Ah! They spotted Kirby on a nearby hill, seemingly napping under a tree. Perhaps they could give the fellow astral a little visit before continuing to the castle!
They felt a sharp tug on their heart, one they had grown accustomed to since reuniting with their father. It brought along a sense of anxiety and fear.
β Paja ... Why are you scared...? β
A wave of nausea hit them, causing their vision to tilt. Wow okay, something was very wrong. Perhaps they'd have to do a raincheck on seeing Kirby...
Was it their magic...? No, they had been fairly good at keeping a decent storage for a while now. It wasn't Twilight. This feeling was foreign. It felt almost....
Their thoughts exploded into a mess of thoughts as a bright light ripped through- wait THROUGH??? Yes, that was in fact, a dimensional tear of some sorts in the sky that just opened right next to them-!!!
β W-What is- no no no- SOMEONE HEL- β Their scream was abruptly cut off as the vortex swallowed their being.
A dizzying wave of colors flashed by them as they flew through the portal. Too many questions crowded their mind as the tear spit them out of the other end, sending them flying into sand. Fear siezed their soul as feelings not their own took their turn in beating them senseless.
Dusk Knight goes through it, the prequel! Otherwise known as 'The Orchestra Incident' in the Dusk Knight timeline.

Their hearing rung from the explosion. Exhaustion and ash clung to their wings as they roughly landed on the ground. Dirt and gravel dug into their cuts as they fought to stand. Leftover traces of magic sparked around their newly grown horns.
A trickle of blood dripping down their face, stinging their bruised eye. Dusk hissed, slightly raising a paw in agitation. Magenta eye surveying the land. They couldn't see-
Their wings twitched at the sound of gravel shifting. They spun around and took in the sight of Maestro. Their mentor- their mother, was laying there, shadows fading off her body. The air seemed to grow cold as they seemed to stop breathing.
β mMom?! β
They dropped their spear, not even noticing as it dissipated the moment it hit the ground. Claws scraping gravel and dirt, they gently propped Maestro up. Oh, they were breathing again. Only more fast and broken this time.
β Mom! Mom I'm s - oh Nova I-I jus' - β Dusk's voice cracked as they clung to her. The fog that had covered their mind slowly lifted as they looked around. Wait, where was....?
β Twi-? He wuz righ'... β
A sharp cough brought their attention back to their mentor. The darkness that shrouded her figure was gone, leaving a dying flame. Dusk fumbled with their communicator as they tried to radio in.
β S- Star Command- this is Dusk Knight to Star Command, do you read me?! I-I need help down 'ere-! She's hurt an' Twi's gone, everyone's gone I dunno wut t'do- β
The communicator crackled with static, stray sparks of magic causing it to overload.
Panic flooded their senses as a painful tug on their soul started clawing its way through them. A precious thread they help dear to their soul was being taught.
β N-no- no nnonono- ya' gotta hol' on jus' a lil' longer- β They grabbed Maestro's hand, watching as her eyes fluttered open at the touch. β Please jus' a lil' longer- they're comin' soon I sw-! β
The hand they held ever so slightly squeezed back. A ghost of a smile stretching across their mentor's lips. β Dusk.. You did wonderful ... Your strength truly knows no bounds... β β No don't say that- β β I am so proud .. to have you as my student ... maybe even as one .. of my own... β
Dusk's eyes darted to Maestro's chest, breath quickening as her's started to slow. β No no no, yer wastin' yer breath- jus' hol' on-! β Their vision was starting to cloud with tears. Was it tears...? They were already crying, yet their brain felt like it was going to explode.
β You'll be j-just fine, Dusk ... Re...member, I love you .. Say hello t' Twilight Knight for me as well... β
A white hot pain flashes across their soul, their vision going out as the thread between them is cut.
A little drabble focused on Dusk's first days on Dreamland. Inspired by @that-fanperson-meg 's fic 'How Twilight Knight Convinced His Father That Their Best Friend Isnβt a War Criminal!'
This is also part 2 to β Who Are You? β
ΰΌΆβ’βββ§ββ
It was LITERALLY the middle of the night.
β I am only giving you one chance to explain yourself, Dusk Knight. β
They knew. They knew Meta Knight had read the reports. About how a village was burned down by one of Nightmare's monsters. Dusk could only skim through the report before their access was taken away (always on security, the GSA was), but they knew that locals could only describe their horns. They even told him themselves. The star-burning knight even brought it up the night they appeared!
Everything about this was bad. What if he told the GSA? What if he himself tried to do something?? Meta Knight wasn't a high-ranking star warrior for nothing.
...
Was he even still with the GSA...?
There's a possibility he left. They haven't seen his badge. Did he have to wear one? Perhaps it was tucked away in its box, safe and pristine. Meanwhile theirs was pinned onto their cape, present for all to gaze upon when they weren't using their wings. They hardly took it off, using it to punish themselves further of how disgraceful they where to the GSA. It was something Skipper always complained about.
β I just don't get it! Why wear it if you aren't with them anymore? β He argue, β Wearing it means you're still with them! β
β Maybe ta' you, but I know what I've done. I don' wear it wit' honor, Skip. Ain' nothin' honorable 'bout me anyway... β
They didn't care what other people thought anyway ... If they wanted to think Dusk was in the GSA fine, but they won't pretend to be.
But perhaps in this particular instance they did mind. They'd already gotten questioned a few times pertaining to the strange badge, especially by that one astral ... What was her name? Selene? Yes, Selene. She seemed excited about meeting Dusk. It was a comforting notion...
They were getting very off track though! Dusk quickly turned, eyes catching sight of Meta Knight sitting atop one of the many pillars that decorated the castle's courtyard. The knight stood still, cloak wrapped protectively around himself. They raised a brow behind their mask.
β Explain myself? I think I did plenty 'a explainin' at th' banquet, sir. β Stay calm. Relax. β Wuz there somethin' ya needed ta' know? β Dusk mentally smacked themselves in the face. Of course there was, you star blasted idiot! It's why he's asking in the first place!!
The other knight stayed silent, possibly assessing how to approach this. A few seconds passed before he jumped down from the pillar, cape unwraveling behind him. His sabatons gently clicked against the floor upon landing. Oh Nova he was cool.
Calm, stay calm.
Dusk could feel their wings shiver under the cape's spell. If took every ounce of repression to not reach to the side and pluck a feather from their wings .... They really shouldn't've have stepped out. Meta Knight must've known they'd visit, only because of Twilight, really.
It didn't matter know. He was here, interrogating them, and stoking a fire not even Dusk was sure would light. They had great respect for the knight, however his knowledge on them was dangerous for sure. They could feel the magic of his precious Galacta humming- did it always do that?
But as soon as they lingered on the thought, the traces of magic faded. Odd.
β Your report to me and a report from one of the locals did not match up. I am simply making sure that I did not get any information mixed up.. β Meta Knight paused, glancing at Dusk Knight's badge, β Rumors have started to spread on that planet. Are you aware? β
Rumors...? Rumors of- of them?? Their eyes squinted slightly behind their mask.
β I wuzn'. Care ta' share? β
β They aren't too descriptive.. Just that the GSA had allowed one of Nightmare's monsters to infiltrate the GSA. Many claimed that the monster had dark purple horns... similar to yours actually. β They didn't like the way he spoke. Teetering between exposing the truth and knowing void all.
Yet the way he said it... 'Monster'. Like he was confirming that's all Dusk was. A monster. It made a part of their soul cry.
The older astral sighed, voice clipping with annoyance. β As I said, you only have one chance to explain yourself. What are you doing on Planet Popstar? β
Dusk's eye twitched at the question, a spark of annoyance dancing across their horns.
β I already told ya' when I first showed up. 'M here fer Twi. I thought someone 'a yer rankin' would remember things like that. β They spat.
The gentle hum of Galaxia caught their attention, its magic growing like a fire. Yet, as quick as it ignited, it quickly dissipated. Odd. There were rumors Meta Knight could commune with his weapon, though none could prove the claim. Did it have something to do with that?
Whatever the case may be, Dusk noticed the way he slipped his gloved paw over the handle of the blade. No, he wouldn't be so rash as to attack... right?
β I ain' here fer a fight. Whatever info ya' got on that village thing is wrong. You don' know anythin' about wut happened that day. β Their cape slowly unfolded into wings, gently flapping and shedding loosened feathers. They shivered once more in warning.
β If I have the wrong information, then perhaps now is the time to update your report? β He dared, eyes squinting behind his mask.
β Unless ya' got a pen an' pad, ya' better shove off. β A low growl rumbled deep within. β I had a great deal'a respect fer ya', not t'mention yer also my best friend's dad now... β
The knight sighed. He wouldn't be getting answers out if them that easily. β Fine. One more question, if you wouldn't mind? β His eyes flashed green- could they always do that???
The young astral glanced at Galaxia, then Meta Knight. He still had a gloved paw resting on Galaxia's hilt, yet he made no further moves to prepare an attack. It almost put them at ease, if it weren't for the fact he was basically interrogating them at the moment.
β Fine, jus' make it quick. I got places t'be y'know... β They really didn't, but if saying it made the other knight hurry up... Their magic was dancing under their fur, hair standing on end with unease.
β Even as a young cadet, the other board members of the GSA wondered about your state when your mentor brought you on... β he paused. β You did not respond to basic question, you never looked directly at anyone- you didn't seem present.... β
β My question is, Dusk Knight ...
What are you? β
Dusk Knight's eyes widened slightly before squinting. They reached up and gently took purchase of their mask.
β 'M a lotta' things. β They growled.
Slowly taking off their mask, they looked Meta Knight in the eyes. Bright pink eyes contested Meta Knight's golden ones as magic danced across their horns. A slight blue tinted their irises.
β But I sure as Nightmare ain't no monster, β their voice seemed to warble with electricity, β be sure t'tell th' higher ups that. β
An electric hum they didn't notice finally subsided. It's hold on the air dying as Dusk Knight set their mask back on. When had their wings started shivering??
Huffing out a sigh, they quickly turned around and started walking towards the entrance. A concerned sigh drifted out of Meta Knight as he watched them leave.
Dusk Knight did not show up for breakfast that morning.
