I’ve been working 12-15 hour days, including holidays, most Saturdays, and every Sunday since November to prepare for what went live at the office this week.
Now that it’s happened? Rest.
Traded my rusting truck for a 2019 Outback premium with less than half the miles on Wednesday. Be nice if it had the Harman Kardon sound system, remote start, and a tow hitch but the last two are pretty easy to remedy and the deal I got was solid.
Laying on the couch with Sam and Dean.
Rewatching Andor for the first time. I missed some stuff, or maybe didn’t appreciate certain things, the first time I watched it. It’s a remarkable show. The writing is better than anything else in Star Wars.
Supposed to warm up a little this week, melt some of the snow. Need to start planning my Canada trip in earnest. Be nice to get the Denali D3 lights I bought installed on my bike. AD-1 pants from Aerostitch have been ordered too, but they won’t be made and ready for a month.
Still.
I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to rest, or to do things for pleasure. Push too hard for too long, put so much pressure on yourself to succeed in one aspect of your life, everything else becomes hazy. It starts to become difficult to remember other parts of your identity.
So rest, and burning away the haze obscuring everything else about my life I enjoy.
